How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

People hanging around the front of the property drinking alcohol Very busy area Metal window frames and single glazing do not block out much noise Bottom of the shower enclosure very rusty and encrusted with limescale Very low water pressure from the bathroom sink tap.
Comfortable room Friendly and knowledgeable owner/staff Good shower. Good location Leaving our suitcase in a secure area in the time between checking out and leaving for the airport

Very clear instructions from Francesco on how to get there from the airport. Right next to train station and metro which helped in getting around. Great budget accommodation. Recommend

Better beds as these were a bit uncomfortable. Also we couldn't find spoons in the kitchen on a couple of days
Great location. Host was great and very accommodating. The air conditioning wasn't working in one room and we got moved to another room promptly. Shared kitchen between rooms and basic but great value

it was close to Termini station and buss stop for airport shuttle buss, also near place was lots of markets. Host Francesco was very helpful places he recommended was great especially pizza place, he also gave recommendations for small cafes where you can drink coffee and have a lunch, how to move around the city to see good places. building also has old vintage elevator which was kind of cool to use.

Francesco as a host is very kind and helpful. Also, the location of the property is great. Termini station is just on the other side of the street, while almost all city attractions are close by (20-30 min away cca).

was a bit uncomfy with neighbors from other buildings (for solo girl traveler)
Amazing friendly host, very helpful with "tourist questions") its Room in many bedroom apartments had some minor noise in the morning, but overall it's very cozy.

There is a smell on the building, and bad smell on the bathroom and was very noisy from the street but they provide ear plugs if you like them.
Near to Termini central train and bus station and Francesco the owner was very friendly and responsive on whatsApp

The location is perfect to move around Rome, as well as taking the train to go to other cities. The room was very clean and Francesco was very helpful and willing to give us tips on how to move around Rome and suggesting spots to visit, restaurants etc

The water would change temperature without touching the knobs and would get super hot.
The location was exceptional it was right next to termani Roma which made it very easy to travel around. Francesco himself was wonderful and full of great tips. He always offered advice on what to do and had google lists already set up for food, attractions and gelato which was super convenient! Way to go Francesco!

great apartment, very convenient location right next to the Rome Termini (you can easily arrange airport shuttle bus to and fro Fiumicino airport), host met us when we checked in and was very warm and welcoming, shared with us about different places to visit and food recommendations and how to avoid tourist traps, great stay overall

Noise was always from street, cars and bus beeping. Because its bus and train station nearby. Sewerage system smelled really bad in bathroom.
Couple minutes by foot from Termini station. Good location. Private bathroom, there is kitchen with oven and microwave. Everything what you could need. I liked that no extra fee was taken because was check in at night.
