Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsSound from the neighbors could wake you up if you are light sleeper. But nothing very distracting It would be nice to have a mirror in the room. With 2 girls in the room - we both were trying to use the mirror in the bathroom which is obviously a challenge ☺️ but am sure Alphonso will get that sorted soon.
The most exceptional part about the property is definitely the hosts. They leave such an impact on your heart with their love and caring. Property is as mentioned. Hosts are attentive to detail . They were kind enough to pick and drop us at train station. They do not converse fully in English - but that does not stop them from helping you with anything . Alphonso is always responsive on texts as quickly as possible. He helped us with reservations to capri . Kind enough us to give us wine bcoz we arrived on Sunday and supermarkets were closed. You have the amazing view of the meta , capri and Vesuvius from the property . 10 to 15 mins to walk down to center and walk up is 20 mins , but not too bad if you are decently healthy. I wish we could speak Italian so that we could have more conversations with them , but at the end language doesn’t matter - heart matters .

NetherlandsMinor points: Parking can be hell in the entire area from Naples to Salerno. Accomodation has (community)parking at 100m's distance which is okay if the parking metre would be more dependable. Adriano and Bianca - who cannot be blamed - do what they can... Inhabitants of the 2nd accomodation (double room for whole family) may cause some noise but Adriano and Bianca are most protective of their guests.
Hosts were most welcoming and helpful. Location is wonderful between Naples and Amalfi with grand terrace overlooking Vico and the most beautiful view of the entire Bay and Vesuvius and sunset behind Ischia. Italy's grandest archeological sites Pompei, Ercolaneo and Paestum all within easy reach (1 to 1,5 hrs), same goes for Naples and Capri. Forget driving in Naples.. Excellent breakfast (Italian or intl.), good resto's in Vico at 1 km.

IrelandThe hill from town is a tough trek. It's a good 20 minutes from town or 35 from the beach and very steep. Although there is a public bus coordinating the timetable was near impossible we only managed it once. To our shame we really had too much on the generosity of our host for a lift from the train station or local marina. We didn't want to hire a car or motorcycle but it would have been much better for getting home if we had.
This is a wonderful retro B&B with amazing hosts. The view from the terrace is really beautiful. The room is exactly as in the pictures and was both quiet and comfortable for our stay for a week. The value is great in comparison to nearby Sorrento. The owners are incredible and were so kind to us and insisted on collecting and dropping us to the train station several times. We could visit all the famous nearby attractions on day trips and were glad to return to the peace and quiet of "Garden on the Sea" every evening. The hosts organized pizza for us and the daily breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We also spent a day on the local beach which was very nice. Trains leave town very often and there is a bus from Naples airport.

IrelandThere is very little to dislike, but the price of the fantastic view is the elevation. There is a decent climb up to the guesthouse, but Adolofo very generously gave us a lift. The address is also served by local bus.
It was a genuine pleasure to meet someone with a genuine pride and passion for their home and city. Adolfo and Bianca are proper ambassadors for Vico Equense. Their home has traditional warmth and hospitality, and a sensational panorma.

GermanyMany thanks to the nicest host's Bianca and Alfonso for the wonderful holidays at Amalfi cost. Alfonso gave us a lot of tips and basically helped us to plan the whole trip. Apartment is clean and comfy, the terrace with breath taking lake view to have breakfast on it or late evening wine bottle. Thanks to Bianca for home made treats. United KingdomThe location of the premises is on a hill and hence the great views but the negative was climbing to get to it and generally there are quite a few gradients, which requires fitness. We did not rent a car for our holiday but used a public bus to get back to the premises instead of climbing.
View of the Bay of Naples and of the mount Vsuvious was excellent from the terrace and breakfast was good but basically the same for the seven days and cleanliness was very good

loved our stay here! Alfonso and Bianca were the kindest and most attentive hosts. The view is stunning and our stay here felt more homely and comfortable than most hotels. Vico Equense is a gorgeous town and we preferred it over Sorrento.

GermanyThe continental breakfast was very good and Alfonso and Bianca made extra effort to provide us with gluten-free and lactose-free food that was very important for us. The sunset view at the terrace is magnificent, a great place to relax. Vico Equense train station is just 20 minutes walk to the B&B and the area along the way is safe and quiet. Its a good location going to napoli, pompei, amalfi coast and capri. The hosts Alonso and Bianca are very accomodating and very helpful, Alonso picked us up from the train station and giving us tips around the area. Bianca made a very good surprise cake . United KingdomI wish we lived in Vico Equense so we could see the lovely Alfonso and Bianca everyday!
My partner and I visited more than six locations whilst in Italy but the stay with Alfonso and Bianca, hands down, without a doubt MADE the trip for us. You would be hard pressed (I’d even go as far as saying it would be impossible) to find a stay like this one along the Amalfi coast without having to pay well into three figures a night. The hospitality from the hosts is second to none, the view is beautiful and this place really feels like home. If you’re after a cold and clinical hotel experience, this probably isn’t the best for you, but if you want an authentic Italian experience with two of the nicest people you’ll ever meet, then what are you waiting for? The fact that the lowest reviews on here are 7’s talking about ‘creaking beds’ should really tell you everything you need to know about this place - you really need to go out of your way to find things to complain about. Can’t wait to come back!
