Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Hotel is in a trendy neighborough not in a cultural one, with quite a lot of nice little restaurants. Hotel is along a nice quite private garden of several flats. Metro is on 100 m. On 30 m it is a nice cafetaria for breakfeast.

AustraliaBreakfast was supposed to be included, but we were told that it wasn’t once we arrived. Shower door was falling off.
It was well priced and close to the subway. Lots of little bars and cafes close by. Only a 10 minute train ride or half hour walk into central Rome.

South AfricaSometimes communication at the reception front desk is difficult and argumentative (in either English or Italian which my daughters are fluent in), there were several misunderstandings and a number of times payment card processing failed due to communications issues or staff not understanding operation of the payment device. However, during most mornings and early afternoon the Filipino front desk receptionist is present and she is excellent, friendly and helpful, speaks good English and quickly sorted out any issues encountered the previous late afternoon / evening.
No breakfast experienced. But right outside the hotel within a minute's walk are several very good cafes. Excellent location. A 3 minute walk away is the Pigneta walking area with many good restaurant and bar options. Next to the hotel within 1 minute walk are both tram and metro stations. Termini is easily accessible by both tram and metro for quick airport access.

SingaporeI usually can't be bothered with reviews and tried to be very tolerant with small issues but my stay at this Hotel was so terrible that I felt the obligation of warning people that might be planning to stay here. One of reasons I had booked this hotel was because we were coming in September which is usually a very hot month in Rome so we needed a room with aircon. Arriving at the Hotel they already charged us the full stay upon check in but didn't warn us about any possible issues. Once we got to the room to my surprise the Aircon wasn't working, there was only a little fan that did very little to help cooling off the room. Realizing the problem I went back to the front desk and this middle-aged man very nonchalantly told me that they were working to fix the issue but that anyways we had a fan. I wasn't happy with the answer but since he said they were trying to solve the issue I decided to wait and see if the next day things were fixed. The room was so hot we could barely sleep the whole night. On the second day there was no improvement and also no updates from the hotel management. Again we struggled to sleep and feeling very tired and frustrated I reported the issue to booking, they spoke to the hotel and someone from their staff told them that they were very sorry but they would not be able to fix it during my stay but they would have no issues in compensating me for the lack of a room with working aircon I had paid for. So everything seemed fine we went sightseeing and once we came back I was called by the same middle-aged man who told me in a very disrespectful tone that they would not give a dime for the lack of Aircon, that I should have told them on the first day that wasn't happy with the lack of Aircon, I told him that was exactly what I did and that was himself who told me that they were working in the issue but nothing was done.
