Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The Staff, location and breakfast were very good. Everyone was helpful and lots of smiles - from the front desk lady, the breakfast lady and the cleaning ladies. Location was fabulous.

AustraliaThe hotel advertises that it has a lift, however our room on the first floor of the hotel could not be accessed by the lift so we had to drag out suitcases up a steep staircase. Our fellow travelers were in the hotel annex, so they had to walk outside in the rain and around the corner to access their room. It was on the 5th floor and the lift only went to the 4th floor, so again, suitcases had to be dragged up stairs. As we are all older travelers this was not easily done. If we had known about this we would have stayed elsewhere.
Quirky hotel in a great location. Very clean, good sized room, very nice bathroom. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

IrelandFirst night we were told we'd be staying next door to the hotel and stayed in an older looking room. I wasn't aware there was different rooms when booking but once we mentioned this to the reception she got us moved to the hotel the next day and loved the new room.

NetherlandsThe boiler was broken overnight so we had to take two icy cold shower. However, when we asked the manager the next day, they fixed it right away. The bed was squeaking all night whenever someone flips over. But that didn't bother us too much.

SpainThe room was not as I expected. I thought to have booked like a normal hotel room, but it was more like an airb&b accommodation, only a more expensive one. The room was in the top floor and the elevator was so tiny, that you could not turn around there. The room was ok, but the acoustics was pretty bad. For the price, I was expecting a bit more quality.
The best thing in this property was its' central location, close to Fontana di Trevi and many other interesting places in Rome. There were many nice restaurants and bars just on the corner. Downstairs there was also a restaurant where we had dinner the first evening and the service was really good (food not that special).
