Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe area around the hotel was very dirty, lots of rubbish etc. The hotel itself could do with a bit of updating.
Decent breakfast, location was convenient for the main attractions of Rome. The roof terrace bar was relaxing to have a drink after a days sightseeing.

United KingdomLocation wise it is perfect for Vatican City visits, but it’s quite a walk into the other typical tourist attractions so be comfy shoes are a necessity. Breakfast wasn’t to our taste but that’s a personal preference.
The hotel was lovely! Staff were super welcoming and helpful. Lovely clean rooms with plenty of space and the shower/showers were really good too. Special mention to the gentleman who worked on the rooftop bar who was just lovely! Exception value for money.

United StatesRoom would not cool off enough for us. We had to have the front desk come to help us and the man basically scolded us to not touch it. Room had bucket under bathroom sink to catch water. Tripped over loose wooden floor in front of bathroom door.
The location was a 15 minute walk from The Vatican. Plenty of options for food. Bartender on rooftop was very friendly.

United StatesShower in the bathroom was very small. Even a medium large person would find it very difficult to get in and out of and to maneuver in.
Good breakfast. Comfortable room. Very good restaurants in the immediate area. Public transport easy to catch.

front desk staff were very helpful and friendly. It was a great value for the price. The room was well equipped and comfortable. Near restaurants and shops. Nice breakfast each day. Highly recommended!

United StatesI was told that they could not turn on the the air conditioner until May 15 due to government regulations. I spoke with others who stayed at various hotels in Rome at the same time and they had air conditioning. I had to have the air off and it was 80 degrees F and was forced to open the window and door to balcony at night to get cooler air. The breakfast was mediocre. They advertised a roof garden with food/drink and it did not exist.
The staff was extremely helpful and cortious.

AustraliaHotel had no hot water due to storm which sucked as we got caught in the storm so a nice warm shower would have been nice . Breakfast was a little boring , Not many options.
Beds weren't comfy at all . Top service however . The main concierge was fantastic . Didn't catch his name , very informative and helpful. His service alone would make us come back . Walking distance to supermarket and small Bistro's,Cafe and public transport. overall it was okay :)

ChinaOne issue I encountered during my stay was the automatic turn off of the heating system at night, which left me feeling very cold and ultimately led to catching a cold. While I understand this policy may be due to city regulations, it does not seem to be very considerate towards the comfort and wellbeing of guests. As a guest who spends the majority of the day out and about exploring the city, it would be beneficial to have the option of keeping the heating on at night for a more comfortable and restful stay.
The accommodation boasts a fantastic location in close proximity to the Vatican, making it an ideal spot for those looking to explore this iconic landmark. The breakfast provided is also of high quality, offering a delicious start to the day. Furthermore, the facilities within the accommodation are commendable, with a large table providing ample space for any work or leisure activities, a comfortable bed ensuring a restful sleep, and a spacious room allowing for ease of movement. Overall, these features make for a pleasant and convenient stay in a prime location.

IrelandThe lady who does the breakfast and cleans the rooms was very overworked and was left on her own to keep customers fed while two managers watched on. This lady was literally running in and out of the kitchen. I hope she gets the help she deserves.

Czech RepublicThe breakfast was not so cool. The choice was every day the same and if you are vegan, it is maybe better not to pay for the breakfast. I would also expect more of the equipment in the room such as flipflops, bathrobe...
The location is very central, we could just walk all around the most famous places in Rome, there are also many good and not expensive restaurants near the hotel! At night, the location was always silent and nothing was disturbing my sleeping.
