The internet was the main problem. Does not work. For a 3-star hotel, the breakfast was poor. You literally had nothing.

The 'patio' area for our room was not private. The door to the patio had windows, and was the only way to get daylight into the room. It meant that another guest could look into our room when using it as a smoking area. The Wi-fi was not great - we did manage but kept losing the connection.

Staff were friendly and helpful, including the staff on the 24-hour desk, in the breakfast room and the cleaners. We also liked the character of this building. Good city location - very close to a bus stop for the AliBus to the airport.

The entrance to the palazzo where the hotel is situated puts you off, but that, I figure, is quite the norm in Catania.

I booked double room (Camera Matrimoniale) for 2 guests. There is a lift in the building. The room was spacious with high ceiling, with a lobby with a desk, large bathroom, big balcony. The receptionist offered me a choice between rooms with street view and backyard view and this made me a very good inpression. I have chosen the street view and it was not noisy at all. The location of the hotel is very good, The style of the furniture was old (maybe 50-60 years) but it corresponded very well with the architecture of the building. The hotel is located in the very downtown of Catania and the entrance is only few meters for the main street Via Etnea. The reception was opened 24 hours and peaople behide desk was very friendly. The breakfast was not too big but for the price of the stay I think it was fare.

Good choice of hotel for a five night stay in Catania, well located and pleasant inside. Nice room. Breakfast very pleasant. 15 minute walk to bus station, 20 to railway station. Would want to recommend La Paglia restaurant. Hotel Gress my recommendation for a stay in Catania.

Most of the stuff didn't know English so sometimes it was hard to communicate with them Also everytime you leave, you have to leave the key to the room at the receptionist desk

Great location, very close to the city centre, also a lot of places to eat around. Breakfast was nice but the choice wasn't very wide. Also, as it is close to the main street it may be a bit loud until midnight

If coming by car you will need to park a short distance away, which can be a problem if you have a lot of stuff.

Very central location but still peaceful and quiet, no disturbances overnight. Walking distance to all the sights and also plenty of restaurants & bars close by. Breakfast was simple but plentiful.

Communication in English is difficult. You need to leave the key for the room every time you leave the hotel. Don't expect too much from the breakfast.

The hotel is near Via Etna (20 metres) but it is still quiet. The staff is very kind and helpful and they are also flexible. Beds are confortable. Breakfast is Italian. We had a good stay.
