Not only was the room exceptionally well designed, kept and presented, the host also went beyond our expectations. Meeting us at the apartment, we were able to check in early; he shared his insights and recommendations on what to do in Matera and even drove us to the bus stop early on the morning of our departure. We were also left a free bottle of wine as complementary. This was all greatly appreciated and we have no hesitation in strongly recommending staying here.

Rich in history, it is an actual Paleolithic cave with Roman adaptations and a modern renovation. Big spaces.

We took our car to the parking area and walked to the apartment with suitcases. The walk was not long, but there was a lot of height difference and stairs. Be prepared to carry suitcases. If we had known, we would have brought only a few necessary items and clothes with us in the little backpack.

Unique beautiful cave dwelling. The apartment was spacious and it was nice to spend time there. Quiet, good place to sleep. The location was in the middle of the oldest Matera. Emmanuel was a big help when we arrived. He also gave information of the history of the region. Strong recommendation.

The place was superb and perfect located in the old city of MATERA. The appartment is very stylish furnised and complete. From all appartments stayed at Italy, this one has the best equipped kitchen and fully funtional with cooking oils, spices etc. The guest, Immanuelle, was very helpfull and gave a warm welcome. The cave experience was sublime.

The property is absolutely amazing the location could not be better. Facilities within the apartment are brilliant and once inside you’ll not get bored of opening the door it is amazing. Great host available to help with any questions and gives great local restaurant and places to visit recommendations. Even drove to find us in Matera after we checked out as we left passports couldn’t be better looked after. The best place myself and partner have stayed at in any city using booking.com

Special thanks for the hospitality from the host. They greeted me at the bus station and took me to the lodging. I am so much appreciated· The location was right on the Sassi, there was a restaurant just next to the grotto. So convenient at night when getting tired and didn’t want to find somewhere to eat.

Beautiful, comfortable, modern yet full of history in the grottas of Matera. The apartment has everything you could need and is central to all sights in old town Matera. Very modern amenities, wish we stayed longer!

The parking arrangements since this sasso is in a ZTL zone. It would’ve been nice for the guests to temporarily park the car to offload and upload our luggage at least before we found a parking spot. Another thing was the odor of diffuser was really strong if people are sensitive to odors.

The central location to sassi and the authenticity of a sasso. The host has everything considered and even beyond the guests’ expectations. You could easily walk around the sassi of this charming town. Emanuele was super nice to be there in time to greet us and explain everything we might need during our stay. The bottle of chilled champagne was certainly a brilliant touch after that sweating walk from lifting luggage from where we’d parked our car. Breakfast was right across from the accommodation and convenient.
