Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNot much. The only thing I could mention are things that always come with staying in an old property, but you expect low ceilings and climbing stairs, so no complaints about that!
The staff are incredibly knowledgeable about Florence, and eager to help. From check in when Mohamed talked us through all the best sites to visit, some restaurant and trattoria recommendations to Fatima who was fastidious with getting us fed in the morning, even chastising a colleague for not fetching her when we decided to have a light breakfast one of the morning ; this was sweet and showed all the staff were keen to make our stay as good as it could be. We had to change room for our last night (my fault when I made the booking), and they made it an easy process too.

RomaniaThe breakfast was the only thing that we didn’t like. We had just some bread, philadelphia cheese, butter, nutella and some jam. Would go there again, but I would opt out the breakfast.

United KingdomNothing!
Locations was brilliant as we had to leave for the station the next day and it was so close (but in a different street and not noisy). Staff were so friendly and really helpful - pointed out what to see and do according to our tastes. They helped at every turn, a simple but fresh breakfast was included in our room fee and free access to juices, hot drinks and drinking water. Comfy beds, plenty of hot water and a very comfy feel. They go out of their way to be helpful and kind. After checking out time, they let us store our luggage there for as long as we needed.

United StatesCourtyard is really more of the back of a restaurant. You can hear a lot of city noise but to be expected.
Place was clean and they remade the bed each day. The external bathroom was in a common area which was a little odd but it was clean and it was our own bathroom. Staff was welcoming and friendly and made us espresso each morning.

United KingdomThe room was very small and the only window was a skylight in the roof, it did at times feels claustrophobic. It was difficult for 2 adults to move around at the same time.
The accommodation was really close to the train station and other transport links, it was also within easy walking distance to the main attractions. The breakfast was included which was ideal and the choices available were more than enough.

RomaniaJust one ceiling window, not too big. Pretty dark room. Small bathroom and shower cabin. Thin walls, you could hear noises from the neighbors
The structure is perfectly located, few min walking from the train station and about 10 min from most points of interest in Florence. It is a nice old traditional building but very well kept through the years. The stairs are easy to climb and for those bringing big suitcases maybe you should wonder yourself if Italy and Florence are destinations for you. Because we stayed 4 nights and booked breakfast as well, we got an upgrade to a bigger room Cristoforo, thanks for that. Be aware all guests have access to breakfast which is 24/7 provided in the common kitchen area (some Italian sweets, coffee, tea, juice, milk). Staff was very friendly, special thanks to Mohamed who welcomed us and gave us good tips for what to visit, where to eat, make shopping. What we initially thought is a disadvantage (breakfast) turned into an advantage. We could have breakfasted any time, serve a coffee whenever we wanted, have a tea in the evening with some sweets because it is available 24/7 in the kitchen. There is somebody at reception everyday from 9am to 7pm. Check-in time is flexible, and we could leave our luggage there few hours after check-out. You can get your room cleaned as well if staying more nights.

SingaporeThis unit came with a private toilet but is outside the room. A little inconvenient. Also there should be a bigger sign of the hotel outside as the hotel is just a small one and occupied a unit.
Location is near the train station and room is clean. Very friendly owner (Antoine)!

United KingdomA little disconcerting that room had no window to outside, except small one onto corridor, so no natural light. Had to remember that there was high step in and out of tiny toilet/shower room. Room was described as Executive double room
Location for the train station and city was good The room was big enough for two nights and we had change of bed linen and towels both days. Good that there was access to kitchen and washing machine and tumble dryer though access was not 24hours a day. Knew in advance no ground floor rooms in this property and that our room on first floor. Reception and kitchen on 3rd floor. Able to leave cases before room ready, reception helpful.

Location was perfect. We stepped out the door and were right where we wanted to be, just a short walk to the Dome and many other sights. Many restaurants close by. Antonio was so helpful, spending time with us to plan a train trip to Cinque Terre and just generally sharing info about Florence with us.
