How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Not a bad thing to say. Top notch
We loved the, helpful and friendly staff, the spacious clean room, and the absolutely perfect location (walking distance to everything and on the metroline. The breakfast was stellar and the wait staff were always wonderful. They arranged our airport car for us and took care of our luggage when we arrived early. Would absolutely stay again and highly recommend.

wish they'd have had a gym (but I do not think we'd have used it actually b/c we walked around Rome so much and got exercise that way).
We loved: 1) Breakfast - food and staff were amazing 2) Bartender - excellent bartender. drinks were perfect, always a smile on his face, knowledgeable about the region 3) room was comfortable and pretty 4) shower was awesome

The key to the room , there’s only one key , I prefer the key card rather than the regular key.
Staff very accommodating, too bad we didn’t able to eat the free breakfast because we have to check out very early, but nonetheless we love the place and our room, we love the amenities provided by the hotel….👍

View from room and lounge areas not as welcoming, only a small bar area but excellent bar staff throughout stay
Good location - close to metro but easy walking to all of Rome’s highlights. Good breakfast but all served. Staff excellent, very friendly and helpful. Room although not large was comfortable, lovely shower room

Room was to compact and both windows was facing the closed area with terrible dirty smelly view.

The hotel was not soundproof so very loud from very early in the morning. We stayed in room 52 which was right by the lift and we heard the other guests coming and going from 4am. Other than this, the hotel was excellent.
The room was well-appointed and clean with a comfortable bed. The staff were exceptional - always very friendly and helpful. The concierge helped us navigate restaurants, sight-seeing, and transportation.

There was literally nothing to dislike about this hotel, I'd give it 10 stars if I could
From the moment we set foot in the barocco hotel, our experience was fabulous, the reception staff literally couldn't do enough for you, The breakfast staff were amazing, as was the breakfast, nothing was a bother for them, To the barman John lucca, such a lovely chap, Couldn't fault this hotel, it was exceptional 👌

Our room which was looking over the square at the front of the hotel was just great and exceptionally quiet, with double windows The staff were probably the most helpful and caring staff we encountered on our holiday. In addition their breakfast was exceptional with top shelf product from the eggs and bacon to the quality of the fruit. We loved our stay at Borocco

The staff was fantastic and the location was walking distance to all the major tourist attractions. They were very helpful with anything you needed, be it reserving a table for breakfast, calling a cab for you or even providing recommendations for drinks/dinners. When they found out we were celebrating our honeymoon, they sent us prosecco and chocolates!
