Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IrelandThe lack of soundproffing to the rooms, the doors closing with bang (couls not close them without banging). The shower is placed between the sink and toilet and it is quite narrow, could not take a shower without splashing water around even though there was a shower curtain. There was always a puddle of water on the floor.
The room was ok, met my needs for the 3 nights stay. Location was good, 15 min walking to Termini Station and several bus stops in the proximity, with buses taking you to city centre in about 20 minutes or to Vatican in about 40-50 min, traffic dependant.

United KingdomWhen we first walked into the room, it was quite dank and stuffy. Furthermore, there was no air-conditioning in our room to counter the humidity. The breakfast provided was also a hamper of pre-packed breads and cereals which had to be brought to a communal area where we found no bowls for the cereals and had to use mugs. A very limited set of cutlery was also provided which meant we had to use the same teaspoon for cereals and stirring our hot drinks.
The shared spaces of the hotel was well kept and pleasant especially the balcony which overlooks a small street with local bars and restaurants. Transport from this location is also practical being only half an hour walk away from the center of Rome as well as good public transport links for when the weather wouldn't permit walking. The location also has good restaurants nearby.

United KingdomBreakfast in a basket was very basic, with packet Croissants and Melba Toast. Coffee making facilities were communal and happened to be next to our room, where cake and bowl of Apples left each morning. Very Carb heavy.
The beds were comfortable. Bathroom was clean. Daily room service.

IcelandNoises between rooms can be heard really easily. had to sleep with headphones 2x because of the people in the next room. The breakfast were no fireworks, a little basket in the room with sugary crossiants and tiny hard breadslices among some chocolate & vanilla toppings, all wrapped in sealed plastic bags, nothing fresh and very cheap. The bedroom floor was very dusty ashwell the nightstands. The Tv made a buzz noise that woke me up in the middle of the night even though it was not on. Main light bulp in the room stopped working on day 2, so I had to use the lamps. The bed was very stiff and uncomfortable.
The location The roomservice, changed and did the beds and brought in new towels. The wifi

Sri LankaThe reception closes at 7.30PM. And also even though I booked for a dedicated bathroom the hotel only has shared bathrooms. It’s good for a single night and for a solo traveller.
I guess it’s a good value for the money because you will not be able to find a hotel for that price in Rome. So I would say it’s good for solo travellers. But not good for couples and families. Location was ok, and attractions are like 20 minutes away by bus.

Czech RepublicBreakfast was provided in a basket for four days in advance. For each day, there were 2 croissants, jam, and cookies. Additionally, there was the same cake and boxed juice every day. A kettle was available in the hallway. The room was very dark, even with the lights on. The bedding consisted of some uncomfortable curtain-like material that scratched and might not be regularly washed. There were no wardrobes in the room, only nightstands and hangers. A fridge was not available. The view of the neighboring house's wall.

United StatesThe room advertised air conditioning, but it didn’t have any and it poor air circulation. This made sleeping very uncomfortable. In addition to the heat, the beds were very firm and it felt like sleeping on the ground. The breakfast that’s advertised is a little misleading as it’s just some juice, coffee, and bread in your room. Although the location is near the train station, you are a little bit outside of Rome (15-20 mins) and the train station is sketchy at night.
Staff was very nice and had accessible transportation. The hotel is also near a few restaurants, making dinner or lunch very easy.
