Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaJust off a main square in quiet location. We had an executive double room (worth the extra) that was large, light & quite with wonderful & modern bathroom. Good secure wifi. Good breakfast that could be enhanced with cut fresh fruit & fresh orange juice. Staff friendly & helpful.

United StatesFor 3 stars, it lacks certain amenities: the bed was less comfortable, the room so small that side tables wouldn't fit, and the location inconvenient to transfer luggage to/from-- especially for anyone with mobility issues

AustraliaShowers are always complex in old buildings where shower cubicles have been installed many years later. .
Excellent location in the heart of historic centre. 8-10 minutes walk from top of 3 escalators servicing mini metro stop Pincetto. Very gracious building with complex layout but great views. Good breakfast.

FinlandRoom was pretty cold and after one freezing night I got a remote control for heating system, then it was better. You really need also some kind of indoor slippers or warm socks because floor is cold. I really missed in breakfast table more fresh vegetables for ex. cucumber or melons and more cheese. Breakfast was quite simple (croissants, coffee and teamachine
Very friendly staff. Great location in the city center.

MaltaUnfortunately our first breakfast in the dining room was chaos. The coffee/tea machine was not working. We only had Italian channels in the TV. The room needs some doing up, fresh paint & repairs to the skirting as it was broken.
The room was ok. Quiet. Excellent water pressure.

MaltaHotel Fortuna would make a lovely hotel in the centre of historic Perugia if and when it is completely refurbished. This is an old building and makes a gem of a boutique hotel. The refurbishment seems to have started with some of the rooms but more needs to be done. Bathrooms lack certain basics like a shower shelve, a toilet brush and a clothes hanger. Toiletries were very limited. The bedroom was spacious but TV is too small for the size of the room and a mirror would make a necessary addition. Room coffee making facilities would nicely compliment the stay. The common areas are also in need of an upgrade but one also needs to be aware that this building dates back hundreds of years Breakfast is what you expect at an Italian hotel except for the Coffee Machine which one would expect to have freshly brewed and not through a dispensing machine. Receptionist staff were very helpful but not the same could be said of the breakfast staff who can put a smile on her face! Overall a good hotel and one to watch for future visits to Perugia

United KingdomThe shower had no shoer gel (ran out and didn't get refilled). Second single bed was a bit short for an adult and not comfortable. The breakfast was quite poor. No warm food and very limited choice. No Nutella and the only pastries (there was couple cakes too) was croissants which were not very fresh. I notified the hotel staff about hanging naked wires in the bathroom, which looked a bit scary.
The room was very quiet and clean. Location was fantastic, and a nice view from the window and from the roof top terrace. Very friendly staff.

BrazilNothing to comment.
The location is as good as it gets, a short walk from Corso Vanucci, Piazza Italia and the escalator to Rocca Paolina. The building is beautiful, a four-century-old palace. The breakfast, served in a beautiful room, was very good.

Great location in center of historic city and very close to major sites and lots of restaurants. Hotel has lots of charm as the building is very old. Rooms are quant and smallish. Breakfast is very good, however only cold choices. From Perugia Central train station, take either bus or mini-metro (our favorite) to historic city center and then hotel is then just a few minutes walk. Using mini-metro between hotel and train station allowed us to explore other cities in Umbria

United KingdomThe bathroom door was sticking, so made a noise every time you opened or closed it. The room was quite small, so were the beds. There were no English tv channels and no tea/coffee making facilities. The breakfast was adequate but there was no fresh fruit and no cooked items like eggs or bacon.
Excellent location, the room was quite comfortable, so were the beds and the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

ItalyThe hotel is located on a narrow side street so any sound at night is seemingly amplified upward; if a visitor is sensitive to sounds, a room away from the street is advisable. Also, the mattress was a bit "tired" -- not a lot of support. But not uncomfortable.
Convenience -- located just steps from the main corso; great staff -- friendly, relaxed, helpful; breakfast -- wonderful buffet.
