How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

The staff is more than helpful! They are there to make your Florence tip a lot easier with recommendations of places to go / restaurants/ and simply to help. They are willing help with what they can. Very easy checkin with incredible instructions so no missing.

The employees of Hotel Nella were extremely helpful, hospitable, and friendly. We really enjoyed the coffee and snacks available each day. The location was central to many of the activities in Florence, no more than a 20 minute walk.

No street signage-difficult to find hotel. Three story walk up. This has a pensione feel, not a hotel feel. Just know that going in.
The host, location, cleanliness and the building felt secure.

No lift but the owner and staff helped us so not a problem at all.
The hotel is very nice and comfy. Everything we need is in the hotel. From microwave to free water. The owner and the staff even helped us to carry our luggage since the hotel is on the 2nd or 3 floor.

Really cute and comfortable hotel with welcoming and friendly staff. The location was perfect to walk to all the main sites in Florence (including the train station), but on a quiet side street with a relaxed atmosphere.

Exactly as pictured and described. Hotel Nella was spotless, comfy, and had all I could need for a base to explore Tuscany. The hosts are really good people! Alejandra steered us to her favorite food spots and a nice laundromat. Location was outstanding with a good breakfast spot a few doors down.

Some people might find the second floor and no elevator a bit of a hindrance, for us was ok, as we got help with our luggage on arrival.
The hotel is in a central location with great, friendly, and helpful staff. The room was clean and comfortable, and the Wi-Fi connection was excellent.

Maybe it’s just that they do not have the lift and had to use stairs to the hotel/rooms. Though they offered to carry them
Location is very good as it’s near the station and walkable to everything. Room was spacious and always clean. Ms. Ale was so helpful from the start and brief us with great locations and restaurants. Tried most of them and they’re all good recommendations ❤️ Thanks again!

Close to the train station, only 5 minutes walking. Located in an old building without elevator but the host helps a lot. Free coffee and biscuits. Clean and comfortable

Nothing much, everything was great. The only thing is that the room is small and the hotel is on the second floor with no lift.
Lovely host at Hotel Nella! She’s very warm and friendly. The hotel is very close to the train station, so it’s convenient. It is also walkable to many of the sightseeing places, we didn’t have to use any public transportation during our stay. The room is clean and had everything we need.

I’m gutted to mention but the shower was quite narrow with low water pressure.
The property was in a very good location, near the station and town too. It felt well secured and hospitable with unlimited expresso, tea, etc and they even let us store our bag after check out.
