How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Location really good especially in spring and summer time. Internal parking place with marvellous trees covering the cars. A good trattoria is just around the corner. Good breackfast.

a bit loud as located on the main road... if you are used to full silence while sleeping, you could be a bit disappointed.

I like design, minimalist interiors so the room didn't "win" me at first. Amenities are very poor but towel are good quality (not always the case in these hotels). The hotel may need a consultant to give it a twist and fill the litttle gaps/area to be improved.
Located 50 meters away from the city main "piazza", this hotel was a good surprise. The setup is very classic, a bit old fashioned but not agd at all. This hotel is a family business and the only two people I met must have been husband and wife. Very nice people. They give me a key "in case I come abck after midnight" which is nice also because nothing but a bar is open in this city after 9pm. The room design is not super modern, but after 10 minutes you will appreciate it. Furniture are good, and the bed was great (what's more?). The room was quite big actually and in the morning I discovered it has a terrace with a table and chairs. I sat down waiting for the breakfast (starts at 7am sharp). A very quiet place, managed by very professional people.

I have really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Il Cavallo. The room and bathroom were large, clean, comfortable and overall in excellent conditions. The staff was very kind and friendly and ready to satisfy all my needs. Highly recommended!

We lacked air conditioning and insect screens.
Location, breakfast and friendly staff. A few steps from the hotel is a very good pizzeria and a nice park.

Nothing to dislike
Great location, parking, large room with huge balcony. A friendly welcome and very helpful advice on where to eat. The hotel was charming with larger rooms than is usual in Italy. Breakfast was fresh and varied. Would highly recommend and stay again when next in the area. Thank you

Nothing to complain about.
Beautiful old building that is extremely well maintained. Huge room and had use of their patio. Air con was a big treat being 35 degrees. Looked like a new bathroom. Lovely, lovely hosts. So kind and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and plenty to eat. Would highly recommend you staying here. Restaurant down below that is soooo good too but pizza and pasta just down the road about 50m.

Air condition programmed to shut off from 1 AM till 6 AM??? to protect the motor ?? that was the lame excuse used by owner to justify the stopping of AIR CONDITION from running ..when it is most needed in HOT SUMMER nights . He even proposed to open the windows to get fresh air .. ignoring the fact that all insects came in the room to feed on you and the noise from the down stairs restaurant which stayed open till early hours. so there was NO SLEEP .. you money to have a good rest only to be tormented by lack of rest due to noise and no Air condition running when most needed.. most disappointed.

This location has very inconsistent available transport to firenze santa maria novella. Also they close their doors at 11pm so you must be in your room before then. On sundays, there is no public transport to firenze at all. On saturdays the last bus from firenze to barberino di mugello is at 8pm.

Family run business, always available for an advice and recommendations. All members were helpful and very nice! The hotel was particularly clean and tidy, really enjoyed my stayed for work.
