There were some ants inside the room astound balcony door end. The sound of doors slamming at early hours was awakening.

The view of the sea were breathtaking. The hotel was immaculately clean and tidy. Room was lovely and spacious with reasonably priced mini bar. Enjoyed having breakfast delivered to room to eat on balcony. Bed was very large and comfortable. Up to date electronic equipment and carving points. Amazingly powerful monsoon shower and large bathroom space for toiletries, etc. All staff were lovely and friendly throughout our stay.

The shower is a bit small but that’s typical in Europe.

The property is beautiful. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment and loved the terrace with its own lemon tree. The view was incredible. One of our favorite things was having the breakfast delivered each morning and eating on the terrace. And the bed was comfortable. It was nice that you can order drinks delivered to your room or go up to the hotel lounge and order one and it has unbelievable views from there.

They "upgraded" our room to a different room than the one we booked. The hot tub water temperature was cold. We contacted the staff, and they came up to check it. They agreed it was too cold, but said they couldn't get the temperature to go any higher.

The room size was great. The bed was comfortable, staff was friendly and helpful with answering questions.

We loved everything about the place . Positano had been a bucket list item for about 25 years , and so for my 60th , decided this was the time . Expectations were high , but the property exceeded expectations . Staff were fantastic. Always willing to help with big smiles . Perfect sea view balconies in a relatively quiet town on Amafi coast. I was there pre season. For me it was a great place to just "be" and chill. Beautiful challenging hiking available, cute shops and great food of course.

Amazing stay! Everything is perfect. The hotel was absolutely gorgeous, we booked the double room and the view from the balcony was incredible. They delivered the breakfast to the room, we can enjoy it in the balcony. Staffs are very nice and friendly, location was great, easy reach to the beach by stairs or nice walk to the port. We will definitely book again if we come back.

This really isn’t a negative, but there is price for that spectacular view. The town center and beaches are some 650 stairs below the hotel. If you think positively, consider it a workout do you can freely enjoy all the good food in Positano!

What a setting! Hotel Il Gabbiano sits on a cliffside high above the sea and cove below. The room is fairly simply appointed, but it has a light airy feel. The bed was comfortable and the shower was great. But the best thing about the room is the terrace where you can soak in the view, sip a beverage, and enjoy the breakfast delivered to your room. Lucia at the front desk was wonderful!

The beds were small and was a tight fit for an averaged sized person.

Greta location and excellent views. Our room was spacious with a big balcony with amazing views. Breakfast was delivered fresh to the room and balcony every morning. Staff were very helpful. The hotel is also on the main road into town so was easy to get to without the need to carry bags up and down stairs. Also being on the road, if you didn’t want to climb 20 stories of stairs from the centre of town, you can stroll up the sloped road. There was also a great wine and cheese shop across the road for those afternoons of watching the sunset with a nice bottle of wine.

The hotel, staff, and location were all excellent! When we checked in, Lucia the owner, was so kind to upgrade our room. This is one of the most outstanding views from our room terrace we've ever had. The room is updated and immaculate There were numerous breakfast choices and they were delivered o our room each morning. Information about getting around Positano was helpful. The view from the lobby sitting area is spectacular. When I booked my room I had many questions which I emailed through Bookings. The hotel was so helpful. I wanted to make sure a car/taxi could get to the hotel front door without us traipsing up stairs with luggage. This was one of the main factors in choosing Hotel Gabbiano. ..easy access from the street. The hotel arrange advance car service pickups efficiently and responded back to me quickly. All in all, this hotel was a wonderful choice due to the staff, location, and the facility itself. All excellent! GRAZIE.
