Well designed apartment which suited us well. We didn't spend much time in it as we were out and about but the pool looked inviting. Breakfast was good and a very helpful host.

The bed was too hard for us.

It was a really nice accommodation. Super clean and beautiful. We enjoyed the swimming pool and the nice view. We could see the sea and the volcano from the terrace. There basic needs like water, milk and coffee were already there, they keep everything clean and give new towels every day. When you arrive or check-out take a taxi (golf car, much fun) for a small fee so you don’t have to walk with your luggage. But everything is on walking distance, even with kids.

The staff went above and beyond to make us comfortable. Being early season, not many food options available on the island, Marcella insisted on providing breakfast material the night before as we were leaving early in the morning, it was it lifesaver, and enough to serve as dinner and breakfast

it was all fantastic. Because the island was so quiet in Feb, the restaurants were all closed, but I think that usually a few stay open over the winter. The other basic shops were open.

absolutely fantastic place. The kitchen works really well and a lovely place to stay. Fabulous views of sea and volcano, great breakfast and lovely staff. we went in February and were upgraded to an apartment with a kitchen as the island's restaurants were closed. The supermarket had everything we needed, and the room came with coffee, tea, water, milk and jam. Perfect.

The staff was incredibly kind and accommodating. They even brought us gluten free bread and pasta when I told them I had a gluten allergy. The rooms were very big and had terraces looking right to the sea. Will definitely be coming back to this place

Nothing, really.

Modern guest house with a few units. Great architecture, amazing view from the upper bedroom and the generous roof terrace. Good breakfast, very nice service. Unlike most properties we stayed at, here bins were emptied etc daily. Although we stayed in December, the pool was open and clean, though not heated, our son took a few rather refreshing baths in it.

as we visited during the "off-season" we got a tremendous deal. Family unit with 2 bedrooms and two bathrooms, etc. Great! Marcella contacted us beforehand with all the details. Questions were answered immediately. The welcome was warm and efficient. Since not many eating places open during that time of the year we followed her suggestion and were not disappointed. Visiting Stromboli for experiencing the volcanic island is one thing but I could easily imagine Il Gabbiano for just a relaxing retreat with the family (or on my own for that matter). The breakfast was good and ample - excellent start into the day.

Absolutely nothing!

An absolutely wonderful, romantic, tiny hotel. Everything is just perfect, the beautiful building, the big room with two baths and gigantic living room (with extra sleeping place and kitchen) we had, the garden, the pool, the location, the friendly staff. Staff does everything you ask them to do, cooks delicious food for you if you want to eat "at home". Everything was clean and very well maintained. From the flat roof, we could see the beautiful village and the sea on one side, the majestic Stromboli on the other side. We were totally overwhelmed. To the black volcanic beach, it was a few minutes down the road (with stairs). Federica, the charming owner, came to greet us personally and after our much too short time even allowed us a late check out. This tiny hotel is perfect for a short but unforgettable sightseeing stay on this cute little island but also for a much longer stay, if you just need peace and want to chill out. Since it is so romantic, it would be even nice for a honey moon or romantic couples. Even our daughter (8y) loved it here, despite there is no playground. A good hint is to take Gian Luca and his small dog as a taxi from the harbor to the hotel, as it is not so close. The ride with his golf cart is quite a lot of fun for young and old and saves you some labor. Of course you have to walk to the osservatorio in the evening and see the eruptions of majestic Stromboli in the dark!

Unfortunately there was some work on a building next door which was noisy (during the day) and dusty. Not really a minus of Gabbiano Relais in all honesty though.

Outstanding view of the volcano, wonderful outdoor spaces (roof and terrace), nice pool and spacious rooms. Very accommodating staff when there were no hydrofoil boats and we were stuck on Stromboli for an extra day.

It was a little hard to find the host when needed and the bed was uncomfortably hard.

The apartment has three levels, a kitchen and sitting area on the main level, with bedrooms and bathrooms both upstairs and down. There is a patio out front and a roof veranda with spectacular views of the volcano and the sea. Breakfast was delivered to the apartment and, for an additional charge, the chef delivered an excellent dinner.

Nothing at all to dislike.

A stunning place - very stylish and exceptionally clean. Myself plus husband, daughter and her boyfriend stayed overnight in a one bedroomed apartment with a citrus garden which was beautiful and suited our needs very well. A point to note is that the one bathroom is situated off the bedroom - fine for us but may not have worked so well for a longer trip. Having said that we wished we were staying longer at Il Gabbiano - the poolside area is beautiful, the people were very friendly and accommodating and the breakfast was perfect. A lovely stay.

We were in one of the smallest rooms and it was a little cramped, especially in the bathroom but we didn't spend a lot of time inside so it wasn't a bit issue. The location is a little further away from the centre of the town which means it is quiet but it was a bit of a walk to reach any restaurants etc.

The breakfast each morning was very good, the staff were attentive and the setting is really beautiful.

A lovely small complex with a pool. Our room had a large outdoor terrace with dining table and plenty of space inside. The room was well equipped and had everything one could want. The breakfast was great and the staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Il Gabbiano, the accommodation felt very luxurious with a relaxed feel and comfortable spaces inside and out. A delicious breakfast arrives in your room every morning at the time you specify and our 8 year old loved the pool and the proximity to the beach. The owner was very responsive and friendly and helped with any and all of our queries, including finding a spare phone charger when we lost ours.

Nothing. Overall, the property was great and a great value for our money.

The view and the atmosphere of the room was excellent. We particularly liked the garden, the tranquility of the place, and the fact it was relatively isolated from the busy port area, yet it was very close to it. The owners have a nice cat, which was a value add for our kids :D The owner also helped us to arrange our Stromboli boat tour, which was a private tour with his son Paolo.
