Beautiful flowers around the property which shows the owners take great care of it. Inside the room also had minimalist decor that complemented the building. Excellent view of the landscape from our room. It was a lovely stay for our 1 year wedding anniversary :)

The view is exactly what you are looking for when visiting Tuscany. The decoration of the hotel and the room were beautiful and cozy. Breakfast was extraordinary, everything fresh and quite big selection for all tastes. Location is very convenient to travel around the region. Owners are very friendly and hospitable to explain you and guide thru the area, give you advice and tips. Room and bathroom were big and comfortable.

The hosts were so friendly and made us feel like family. Breakfast was amazing every day with fresh made pastries and fruit, etc. They even provided a gluten free breakfast for me. The rooms were beautiful and the surrounding gardens and vineyards were so pretty. Giorgio, the host, helped us with our plans everyday and made dinner reservations for us.

This accommodation was beautiful! And in a very good location nestled amongst rolling vineyards. The owner gave us MANY amazing recommendations for the area surrounding. We had a car and I’d recommend this is the easiest way to experience Tuscany. There are two restaurants within 1km of the property. Breakfast was incredible!!!

Bed was a bit hard for my back, however my husband liked it, so it's just a matter of taste.

The ancient farmhouse is set in beautiful countryside. Our room was spacious, modern and clean, the water pressure in the shower excellent. Owners of the property, Giorgio and his family are fantastic hosts, very kind and attentive, always smiling and willing to help. Breakfast was very tasty, with home-made cakes, cheese, salumi and excellent coffee. We also enjoyed very much the wine tasting with Gregorio.

Amazing place for experiencing calmness, beauty and taste of Toscany. Spacious clean room with everything needed. Great shower and toiletries of good quality. Air conditioning. Delicious breakfast with home made cakes, yogurt and jams. Super friendly people. The owner Giorgio will not leave you without a great advice what to visit and where to have the best dinner. Don’t miss the wine tasting experience, their wine is top.

Nothing - it was perfect.

The room was beautiful, clean, and comfortable with a brilliant bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic with amazing cakes made by one of the owners - she was amazing! The location was perfect for Volterra and San Gimignano. I could not recommend this place more highly. They could be charging double and it would still feel like good value for money. I would highly recommend doing a wine tasting of their wines made from the surrounding vineyards which we had a beautiful view of from our bedroom.

The billing in which we stayed was amazing - old stone farm house. Everything is renovated with taste, with all amenities that you could need. Breakfast is home made with local ingredients. And wines... simply perfect. The owners are amazing people, super helpful. Absolutely would recommend this place.

When we booked our stay we couldn't believe that we found this amazing place, so we already had really high expectations. This place was even better that we expected. Monica and Giorgio and the rest of the people that work here are amazing guests, really kind and friendly. Our room was perfectly clean and really comfortable. The breakfast was amazing. Wish I could have stayed longer.

Monica and Giorgio are exceptionally great hosts that catered to our every need. The 500+ year old farmhouse is completely refurbished with all the modern conveniences you'd expect but retains its historical look and feel. Our room was large and comfortable. Daily Monica baked sumptuous goodies for breakfast along with fresh fruits, juices along with cold cuts and cheeses. Giorgio shared his vast knowledge of the surrounding towns helping us plan our day trips to them. All in all we had a terrific time at Il Palagione and I'd recommend it to anyone looking for the Tuscan experience.

The only thing missing for our stay, was a pool or good way to chill down. However - we stayed during Extreme heat. So it is really not a “lack”, but just nice to have in the hot season.

Magnificient hosts, fully renovated and gorgeously decorated room/houses. The breakfast was phenomenal. Also the hosts act as perfect guides for your daily tours. And the wine is.. perfetto. Do not hesitate to book this stay. You will not regret.
