The family are really fabulous hosts. The place is very nice (although may not be easily reachable without a car) relaxing with an amazing view. The panoramic swimming pool next to the cozy sauna is great. The food (breakfast buffet, dinner) is truly exceptional (lots of choices, homemade recipes and products). Would definitely go back.

    Nothing

Everything. The staff are the family which owns the hotel, so that feels like they care about you. The food was amazing, we ordered dinner additionally and it was a journey of tastes. They are growing and making everything by themselves or buying from locals, so everything is fresh and you can feel it. I would like to come back and stay there for a longer time.

Located high above Belvedere Marittimo our spacious and exceptionally clean room offered a balcony with the most beautiful view of the coastline and the ‘Old Town’ and a real bonus was the stunning sunsets. The pool, jacuzzi and garden are really well maintained and we made a lot use of them. What makes Il Podere dell’Angelo so special is the family that manages it. They are so kindhearted with amazing hospitality. Carla is a wonderful cook and we had the privilege of eating quite a few of her delicious dinners as well as her tasty breakfasts. Her son , Angelo, is a lovely polite young man who was very helpful. This property is excellent value and we highly recommend it. The property is signposted several times on the winding road that leads up to it but our Sat Nav incorrectly directed us to turn right just before the little church at the top, however, we should have continued past the church.

After an easy but steep climb in our hire car up a single-track lane (fully expected as the remote property is high on a hillside, plus most roads we'd experienced in Italy are rutted/potholed!) we arrived via a manicured, floral driveway. Although we were early, we were welcomed by the owners' son with water and cappuccinos and he seated us under the shade. He then checked us into a spacious, immaculately clean en suite bedroom on the 1st floor which, from the balcony, has breathtakingly spectacular views down the hillside, sweeping across the valley to sea. The garden was also well-manicured and with various fruit trees, swinging chairs, hammocks and a variety of shaded seating & loungers under pagodas and interesting artwork. As it was 28 degrees, we didn't use the sauna! The jacuzzi was lovely and the vanishing edge pool, from which one can admire the sweeping views, is pure bliss. We enjoyed a flagon of homemade craft ale and complimentary homemade lime & mint cordial. Although there isn't a restaurant or menu, when we enquired where we could dine, Ricardo very kindly said she'd cook for us. We were given a platter of delicious home-cured meat and local cheeses, followed by a very tasty spaghetti & vegetables dish. Breakfast was an outstanding array of homemade delights, all displayed on a wagon in the breakfast room. Literally everything was homemade and home-grown from the yoghurt, honey, fig syrup, fritatta, chilled vegetables, breads, several cakes, cookies, granola and two excellent fresh fruit smoothies. We felt very spoilt and everything was delicious. The 2nd night Ricardo very kindly cooked for us again. Jokingly my husband asked for Tiramisu for dessert, so we were stunned that she said she'd actually just made a coffee semi-fredo (ready for breakfast) and he was welcome to some. Wow it was sooo delicious. Needless to say we enjoyed more of it for breakfast too! A truly superb stay and we'll certainly...

Getting to the place is already a small adventure with the road going up and up into the countryside and woods. Once there, the scenery is simply fantastic with a breathtaking view of the sea. You immediately feel comfortable and welcome. The quality of the food is then a unique experience with all the products homemade or otherwise from the area.

Excellent, friendly hosts with amazing hospitality. Room was very clean and tidy. They offered copious breakfast for two of us. We asked for a dinner and they made a delicious pasta of ingredients from their own farm for a very decent price. The garden, pool and surroundings of the house is also very nice and clean. I would definitely recommend for anyone who looks for a calm stay with a mind blowing panorama.
