Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaAlthough it was not an issue for any of us, I would not recommend this apartment for anyone who has mobility issues.
The apartment is very well located, close to many restaurants, tourist spots and the beach. Very quiet during the night. Everything needed was provided. Fabiana is a great host who was always available to answer any questions.

Very nice place in a perfect spot very close to the beach and center of Monopoli. Everything very clean. We stayed with our two girls 5 & 7 years. They slept in one double room on 1st floor, parents slept on 2nd floor. Aircon in both rooms worked well and very silent. For us it was perfect that way to stay as a family. And the highlight is the roof top terrace, the effort to walk up the stairs is really worth it. The owner Fabiana is a very nice person and really helpful with lots of tips and recommendations. Great communication via whats app. Thank you so much to make our trip to beautiful Monopoli unforgetable.

IrelandFabiana the host was amazing! Location of the house is fantastic, 30 seconds to the beach. House is cute, the roof is really the winning feature. A lot of steep steps in the house so a bonus workout every time you went upstairs!

Czech RepublicMind your head on steep stairs :) The bells in churches ring quite often. It was our pleasure to stay here.
The host Fabiana is super nice lady. Her holiday house is in the heart of historic Monopoli and is there everything you would need for a short stay. She is ready to help you with whatever you would need.

PolandJust be aware, that there gonna be a lot of steep stairwalking :) And be careful, because very low ceiling might cost you some bruises.
Great Place, very helful owners - they even secured free parking spot for us. Place has unideniable charm, well equiped and furnished with style matching 19th century building. Great private terrace, 2 minutes walk to the beach.

United KingdomThe stairs are steep although for us it was not a problem. While we were there some building works were going on across the road, although this was temporary and is limited in the tourist season.
Fabiana was an excellent host. Anything we needed was dealt with very quickly. The location is in the old town very close to the beaches, shops, cafes and restaurants. You have your very own medieval contemporary house with multiple floor. The roof terrace was excellent for meals and the stairs between rooms keeps you fit. The train station was not too far and it was easy to get there to catch trains to other places to visit. The nearby Cafe Roma is great place for coffee. The house has everything you need to be self catering. Amazing place. Thanks for a great holiday.

The location was amazing. A 2 minute walk to the beach and central to the old town. The roof terrace was amazing. Loved having our cup of tea up there and doing some Qigong in the mornings. Quite the suntrap even though it was February and still chilly. The host was lovely and welcoming. There were supplies to have breakfast which was a nice touch. It's a beautifully maintained traditional home - however if you have very young children or any mobility issues the stairs would be difficult. Thank you for a lovely time!

SlovakiaApartment is in the historical centre - you can enjoy view at belltowers churches on the roof sitting while drinking wine and eating mozzarella in the evening. The beach is 30 meters away, so you can walk in the swimwear there. Apartment is interesting how it's build - each room is on different floor so if you have problems with stairs maybe you won't like this accommodation but for short term holiday it's perfect. Owner Fabiana was really friendly, kind and helpful. She drove us to train station, answered all our 'traveling questions', moreover organized Ang.testing for our kids what we needed for leaving the country.
