Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomAlthough the building is beautiful, it is old, so understandably it’s damp and a wall in my room was damp with visible moulds. The room was very well cleaned but I could still smell the dampness. It was the old town so I wasn’t expecting a view but my window opened to the neighbours balconies which were only 6 feet away. I didn’t want to keep the window opened too wide even though the room smelled of dampness. Also the white bright fixed lighting in the room was a little too severe. Softer warmer lightbulbs or normal table lamps would make the room feel more comfortable. Hope they can fix the dampness and improve the lighting so the hotel can be even better.
The hotel is in a beautiful old building conveniently located in the middle of the old town. It’s beautiful and bustling and you’re surrounded by shops and restaurants. The communal areas of the hotel are comfortable and well decorated. I especially loved the beautiful exposed beams on the ceiling in the main hall. The hotel is very clean in general and the bed was very comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful.

AustriaThe rooms are very poorly soundproofed, other guests were arriving late at night very noisy! We were woken up by the noise and were scared that somebody was trying to get into our room! Which was certainly not the case but we could hear our neighbor trying not open their door, which was so loud we assumed it was ours
Very hospitable staff, perfectly located centrally in the city and in close proximity to subway station and attractions The staff is very helpful and assisted to our utmost satisfaction!

United StatesOur room was a very tight fit with little space on one side of the bed and a very compact bathroom. It was a bit noisy because our door opened onto the common area where breakfast is served.
The staff was responsive to our questions prior to arrival. Overall we had a good experience with a clean room and welcoming staff when we checked in. They were also helpful in recommending dining options and procuring a taxi to the airport. The location was convenient for walking around the older part of Naples, near tasty gelato, and restaurants. The breakfast offerings were fine, with a good variety of fruit, pastry, and more. Various coffee drinks were also on offer.

United StatesThe design of our room felt industrial, it was too white and was aesthetically cold. The neighborhood between the train station and the hotel may be intimidating to solo or female pedestrians. I’d suggest using Corso Umberto I if walking to or from the train station.
The street was a wide, commercial street - spacious and orderly in contrast with the narrow and chaotic streets common in the historic district, but the hotel was located between two of the main east-west historic streets so it was a great location from which to explore the old city. Our room was quiet and comfortable. The hotel is several flights of steps up from the street. The room was spacious, as was the bathroom.

GermanyThe breakfast. This is the reason I can’t put a 10/10 review. I think the breakfast could have more options, it was not diverse enough. No egg options.

IndiaThere are no lifts in the building. Please make sure you carry small luggage which you can manage. It is a steep climb.
The location was in the Old quarter. It is a very nice area and during the weekend the whole area was filled with tourists. It was nice and seemed like a great big party. There are quite a few restaurants and shops which is 5-10 mins walking from the Hotel. Many historic places very near to the Hotel. It is a 8-10 min walkable distance to the metro station.

EstoniaThe name of the hotel is Il Tesoro Smart Suite & SPA, but we were not offered any SPA facilities at all. The bathroom in the room is quite simple as the room itself.
The location of the hotel is good, though please keep in mind, that there is no lift and you have to climb the stairs with your suitcases. There is a nice pizza place on the same side of the street, not far. There is water and some other things in the minibar, that are included in the price of the room.

United StatesThe street noise made sleeping difficult. I also wish that there was a small rug or yoga mat in the room so that I could do my exercises and physical therapy while traveling. This was a challenge throughout Campania.
Il Tesoro was clean, near a Metro stop, and within walking distance to the train station. Breakfast was quite sufficient.
