Breakfast had a great variety daily - always fresh and delicious. The location was perfect for going to the beach or to the city center. Lots of wonderful restaurants close by.

The location is ideal, the building is beautiful inside and outside and all services are perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. It is probably one of the best hotel I stayed in! I stayed there twice already and if I come back to Viareggio, I would definitely stay at Hotel Katy again.

If you want a hotel that you can sit around / drinks inside the reception area then maybe not for you. But plenty of places in the vicinity for this anyway so not a problem

Slight problem on checking out - which could have been communication given I don’t speak Italian (my fault). However, city tax has to be paid in cash. We settled our bill by card and I agreed to get €24 in cash from the local cash machine that evening. In addition, after I’d settled the bill by card, reception informed me they had charged the wrong rate and €17 more needed to be paid. On our return to the hotel on the last evening, they refused to hand over room keys until all was settled (€37 euros left form an almost €1000 bill already paid). They had no reason to treat us like we weren’t going to settle the bill. Was very strange. They got the bill wrong - their mistake. Further to this they wouldn’t let us settle the room rate change on card we had to pay cash. Left a bitter taste on what had been a pleasant stay up to then. Shame.

The hotel was super clean and well maintained. Breakfast buffet selection was varied and would appeal to all tastes. Staff were friendly. The bedrooms were a good size, cool and clean.

Breakfast is simple, could be improved.

Location is excellent and the hotel is quiet. Small family run hotel with a boutique feel. The staff and owner are extremely helpful and courteous. Rooms are very clean and well maintained with good storage space. Bathroom is large and functional.

Amazing service and facilities! We arrived in the morning, so we're allowed to let our luggage at the reception to enjoy the beach. The room was silent and comfortable, and the hotel has AC. Loft is small, as it's usual in Italy, but works very well. Breakfast was full of options and delicious! Would definitely recommend!

The cleaning could get more attention. We had a lot of dust under our beds. There is no carpet so it flies easily all over the room.

Not a lot happening in the area if heavy rain for a few days at the end of the season, but that's not the hotel's fault.

Would have no hesitation in stopping there again or recommending it to anyone. Nice and refreshing to see such excellent standards . Can’t wait to return …

Location excellent close to restaurants, shops and beach. Breakfast delicious, looked forward to a cappuccino each morning outside on the decking.Staff exceptionally nice especially Ruggero who was so friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Ruggero advised us on which train timetables to take and was great craic. Paul and Fiona Ireland
