The staff went above and beyond. Cinzia and Nicolas were so friendly and so helpful. This location is perfect for 2-3 nights to explore, hike, tour and to see the city. PRO TIP: The Hotel will tell you where the closest parking is (And the most reasonable). From there USE the DRIVING directions to walk to the Hotel in order to avoid stairs with luggage. I heartily recommend the Hotel, the breakfast and the lovely staff!

Honestly there were no downsides at all. Too good to be true 💖

I travelled with two cats🐈‍⬛ and my mom and had one night in Matera on our drive. We chose this place and couldn't be more thrilled! The hosts were amazing, we got a room upgrade, our pets felt so welcome there. The location is perfect, Cinzia gave us clear instructions as to the parking and directions to the place. We also wanted to try a local sweet from Puglia pasticchotti, which we didn't get a chance on our way, so having told about it to Cinzia, we were amazed for their extra effort to get this treat for our breakfast the next morning 🥰💖 and got another great recommendation for tette Della monacche 😍. The room was also big and comfortable, spotless, shower even though tiny, but works perfectly, unlike other places on our trip. Loved the bed and pillows, got really good sleep. And the whole experience with the location and the old town, ambience of the place and the hospitality made this stay truly one of a kind! Would dream to come back again and highly recommend to anyone 💖✨️

Wonderful Place!! When we arrived at the Hotel, we found Cinzia Artiere's Manager let us entry in the room early the check-in. We choose the Deluxe Suite , that was really big & confortable and with one of the most beautiful panoramic view from both balconies & Windows. The best stay in our tour-trip. I really recommended this place! We'll be back soon!

This is probably one of the easiest 10s we have ever awarded. From the moment we arrived and were greeted in the cafe, the atmosphere was very welcoming and relaxing. Cinzia and her mother were very friendly and went out of their way to accommodate us during our stay but also gave us excellent recommendations for places to eat. The location is also superb and the roof terrace is the perfect place to watch the sun set. There are numerous good restaurants nearby and easy to access tours and local attractions.

Such wonderful staff, we visited Matera for my partners 40th birthday, the staff went the extra mile and gave him a cake with a candle which was lovely. The room was amazing, large, spacious, comfortable, with a private balcony and a beautiful view, even better on the roof terrace. If I ever go to Matera again I would definitely stay again

Overall the stay was excellent … A small quibble was that there was no safe deposit box in the room.

Location in the middle of the Sassi made getting around easy. Breakfast excellent quality and quantity . Car parking system with transfer was an excellent stress free start and finish to the stay. Friendliness and helpfulness of the proprietor…. She organised at our behest à mobylette tour of the Sassi. Her annotated comments she had provided on the map given on arrival indicated suggestions for eating . Her expertise showed in all the systems that were in place in the room to help tourists . The use of new technology was good , entry was keyless.The roof terrace was amazing.

There was an air conditioning in the room, but it could be more efficient.

L'Atiere is a small, five-room hotel which is adjoined to a caffe. It is well located in the historic town of Matera and within walking distance of all the main attractions. Our room was accessible through a secluded square. The building is centuries old and the spacious room with its vaulting ceiling shows it. The bed was large and comfortable, the bathroom was spacious and had a great shower. There was a small support area with a sink, coffe maker, electricl kettle and frigo bar. The nice and private balcony with a view was great for us to take our breakfast. The staff, specially Cinzia, were very attentive.

Excellently located right in the centre of Sassi di Matera which is exactly where you want to be. Huge room with great facilities, very clean and professional. Breakfast included was excellent and our hosts were kind enough to serve it 30 minutes early on our final day as we had to leave early to get to the airport. Would definitely recommend.
