Impossible to lock rooms

Very beautiful location & view and unique historical site surrounded by nature. Amazing food! The only small thing the accommodation should change is that the rooms cannot be locked.

A true paradise, I can’t wait to come back. I felt like in a dream. Highly highly recommend and the little walk up to the rifugi made the whole experience even more magical. All the team working there where so kind and so beautiful we had everything we needed and more🙏🏼❤️

The only issues for me was the hike, but it is already warned in the name of the reservation. Other than that, air conditioning in hotels is pretty standard, but this is a special place so I don't blame them for not having it. The fans do enough. Parking is a nightmare but the hotel has spots reserved in the parking lot right next to the beach.

The staff was very friendly and always accommodating. The view of the water from our room was amazing.

Nothing. I liked it all and I would definitely stay again. It’s a different type of stay to a regular hotel.

This place is perfect for anyone looking for a unique, yet affordable stay in Portofino (lovely short walk to Portofino). What the property is doing there in terms of living from the land and providing affordable accommodation in a generally very pricy area, should be commended. The walk is manageable and doesn’t require you to be an expert hiker, though it will be easier in a good pair of shoes and with a backpack. That being said my boyfriend did it in loafers and a regular pulley bag. - So doable. The room was very spacious and I loved the mattress. I slept great. I loved the nut butter, what I think was cherry jam, coffee and juice at breakfast. Ask them about their story, it’s very interesting.

This is such a special place and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here - the location is peaceful and beautiful, the food is local and extremely delicious, the rooms are clean and modern while remaining true to the history of the place. Giacomo and Luca are friendly and knowledgeable. We hope to return soon.

There were no locks on the doors or any secure storage options, which could be really important, especially for a woman traveling solo. Fortunately, I was with my partner, and we took extra care to secure everything in our bags. It was possible for anyone to enter the rooms, even the one next door. If I had been alone, I wouldn't have felt safe

The hotel's location is fantastic! We will definitely return. The food was outstanding, and the staff were incredibly friendly. It's a great spot for both hiking and swimming. It feels like a hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of tourists and the pricey Portofino atmosphere. We had an absolute blast during our stay, and it was a truly dreamy experience.

No shades on the window in my room ! Not good at all with the Italian sun Remarkably bad food at the hotel restaurant for Italy Eat out if you’d like a nice dinner

The property was a calm retreat away from the road, with beautiful views out to sea. Our room was large and clean with a modern feel. The homemade breakfasts are tasty and the staff were very friendly. I would recommend to anybody wanting to stay near Portofino.

Awesome place…gorgeous views, beautifully done in such a simple way! For anyone wanting to escape a great find. The walk in is not too bad at all and the walk to Portofino fabulous. Great bus service from Santa Margherita (no car needed) Lovely little bay at the bottom of the track at Paraggi!! Al in all a great stay!!

This is exactly what i hoped for. The Refugio is simple to access by walk and just 10 min far from the Road and the bus station nearby. I was charmed by the Place, the calm, the nature and the possibility to escape the crowd to enjoy beautiful view and the compagny of the very kind hosts. Thank you for the time and food spent together. I recommand this Place and i will for sure be back if i pass by Portofino or the cinqueterre.

i liked everything - but you must keep in mind it is in the forest on a hiking trail and so it may not be the easiest to get to if you have anything more than a backpack 🎒. (and definitely not in heels after a night out in Santa Margarita!) just travel light!

It is a beautiful building on the outskirts of the city in the forest, but also only a little hike down to the beach, which was beautiful

As advised in the description, anyone staying should be aware there’s a 10 min hike up to the accommodation - totally doable if you are reasonably fit but worth considering the luggage you bring!

Unique, peaceful and friendly place to stay. The staff and guest were exceptionally friendly and we loved the delicious, home cooked ‘family style dinners’. Hearing wild boar foraging outside at night was a highlight!

Hike up to the house on a hot day was sweaty for me. Don't bring your big suitcase up the hill unless you want a workout.

Magical surrounding with nature all around (we saw a family of wild boar at night), friendly and helpful staff, great food, spotless rooms and impecable bathrooms.
