Fancy accommodation near the heart of Spello, not the newest but still very high-end. The breakfast was fine, the staff was friendly and happy to help.

The rooms were very comfortable, 3 rooms were booked and 7 guests and all very comfortable, staff at breakfast accommodated our needs. The staff overall very helpful especially with helping us arrange taxis on a number of occasions. Some of the our party also used the spa they said it was amazing

It’s unfortunate that there is no longer a restaurant in the hotel, because there are not many restaurants close by and some were closed. In winter, this is an issue. It’s far on foot from the station and the pillows are hard (common in Italian hotels, it seems).

Very clean, comfortable bed, outstanding breakfast, pleasant and helpful staff, excellent massage, a large terrace to enjoy the beautiful view. There’s a spa area and swimming pool too.

No elevator. But after 2 days of stairs, my legs are in shape!

Air conditioning was perfect for sleeping on hot nights. Pool was perfect after a day of sightseeing.

We appear to have been charged €20 for our 1 dog to stay with us for 1 night in the hotel. Usually we pay €5-10. Extensive breakfast buffet, but sadly no gluten free bread, or dairy-free cheese or yoghurt.

Located just inside the city walls, it’s got wonderful views and is well situated for exploring Spello.

The restaurant was closed and has poarently been closed for some time.

The hotel is a beautiful building with fabulous views from the windows. The breakfast has everything one could wish for! Car parking was close by.

The only downside was breakfast. Products were old, cheap and stale. Was a real let-down as everything else was great.

Staff were all super friendly and helpful. The pool is small but perfect for relaxing after a long day. The room was clean and the bed super comfortable.

Asking 20 EUR to store one bicycle overnight in a garage....that is just....I don't know....insulting. Entire experience and room (except the bed) do not feel like it is still a 4* hotel. Restaurant looked like a nice place to enjoy a dinner, but we started on a wrong foot with a bicycle storage fee, so I had to pass any opportunity to spend more money there.

Location is great, fantastic views. I think this was a really nice place to stay at some years ago, but its charm faded.

The air con didnt work at all in our room, there was no room service or food available. There was no restaurant! The breakfast selection was dire and there was no taxi or way to travel into village of Spello to get food. Pool area needs refurb vile mat with metal bars protruding out in front of entrance to pool. Not enough beds in pool area.

The views were amazing and the staff were very nice and friendly.

There were no showering or toilet facilities at the pool, there is no restaurant on site, no tea or coffee facilities in the room, only water in the mini bar, there was mould in the shower, we had to pay for pool towels, the gardens were unkept.

The pool, location and the bed was good. The outdoor terrace had a glorious view. Breakfast was okay.

We had stayed here about 3 years ago and were very sad that the amazing restaurant had closed. The bones of this amazing hotel are still very much there, but it could do with some brightening up and removal of the badly damaged sofa in the otherwise lovely reception.

La Bastiglia is beautifully located looking out over beautiful rolling hills. It is a little bit of a fading beauty but was fine for our stay in lovely Spello. Nice room, nice breakfast and very friendly staff.

Can’t fault it

This place is amazing! Lovely relaxed place to stay. Lady at reception helped with all our transport needs using the lovely local taxi driver. Ideal location to venture out into the town for some lovely food or local products. Close to Assisi and wine tasting areas. The room was great, had everything you needed in it. Pool was just amazing with panoramic views. We were down at the pool side just after breakfast, no booking needed or anything.
