Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The owner was very accommodating. Despite our late arrival, he made arrangements to check us in. Tip: Please adhere to the check-in time or notify the owner immediately if you will be late, as he has work commitments. He was the only owner who provided us with welcome information about Rome. The place is conveniently located near St. Peter's Basilica, with restaurants, convenience stores, souvenir shops, and a bus station nearby. It's also close to the R. S. Pietro train station. Although the space includes other rooms, you have your own private bathroom located outside your room. There is a small kitchen available for cooking.

About 8 Minutes walking distance to the vatikan. Bus going to the citycenter across the road. Supermarket about 5 minutes away, as is a very nice little park (entrance across the supermarket) where you can enjoy the evening sun :)

ItalyIn the description, it was written that taxes are included in the final cost, however we were asked to pay an additional 7 euro. Not really a problem, but if you're on a budget please keep this in mind. Additional charges The price you see below is an approximate that may include fees based on the maximum occupancy. This can include taxes set by local governments or charges set by the property. City tax (AUD 5.40 × 1 guest × 2 nights) AUD 11 Final price (taxes included) approx. AUD 152 You'll pay 98.80 in EUR.
I booked this room for my cousin who was staying here for 2 nights. The location is good, with a good variety of restaurants and cafes nearby.

Czech RepublicIt was a bit cold in the room during the night and we could here a noise from the neighbours.
The host was really kind and attentive, responded very quickly to any of our messages. The room was nice, there was enough space for everything and it provided enough of privacy. The apartment is well equipped. And the location is great - very close to Vatican and in a walking distance form the centre of Rome.

United KingdomWe had to share the flat with another couple, the kitchen and living room were for everyone to share. The flat has furniture old fashion, the towels were so thin that 2 of them broke when we used them. The bathroom looks very old and the shower was full of mold. The breakfast only had a couple of croissants, jam and bread, milk and some cereals that looked stale, no healthy choices or fruits. We ate in the city, so don't rely on the breakfast. The flat is at 6 floor and the lift is so tiny, only 2 can fit, so if you're a family you'll have to wait for the others to go first. Overall, would not go again and don't recommend it. The only good thing was the location.
The location was good, very close to Vatican city, 7-8 minutes by foot.

United StatesLet’s start: elevator… it is you or the luggage. No more air inside but that. Bed, totally uneven, You can see when you come in. Towels hard as a paper. It is a BB and the breakfast was crackers in a bag, i had to make the coffee, some stuff in packs, no fruit, bread…mug and cereal and a juice that never existed. Everywhere we go the BB offer the best breakfast. The host wake up early and even cook for us. This one here, we just walked away. Terrible. The smell in the main area is horrible. Again, only good this was the location. Walking distance to Vatican. And then comes the host. Host???? Rude and disrespectful to me as I comment to him about bugs in the room, not as a complaint but as an advise. He flips on me accusing me of basically not telling the true. Not once by twice. That type of person that you want away. He accused me of not wanting to pay city tax. My co-worker (out of her mind) forgot to leave so we asked what’s the best form to pay… and he started with messages out of this world with accusations being that we wrote 4 times we were about to PayPal him. But we were driving and waiting to stop someone safe. Anyways I Hope GO gives him a good life, better mood and specially education. Be a gentleman my friend. We are tourist that pay for your city to function. We are not trash. Be respectful and kind. I understand your life must be tough some Days but we pay to be well treated.
Location. That’s all.

DenmarkThe owner's parents checked us in. They didn't speak English but they were so kind, sweet and funny when they were explaining everything to us, it was one of the highlights of our trip :) The location is really great. We could see the St. Peter's Basilica from the balcony! We walked to most of the places in the city since everything was close enough. Everything was great, especially for the price we paid.

GermanySome kitchen utensils were missing, but it was still easily possible too cook.
We really enjoyed staying here. We shared the flat with another coule but had our own bathroom, so we only shared the kitchen. It was extremely easy to explore Rome. The place is 5-10 minute walk to Vatikan and from there 30 minute walk to the city, but we always used scooters to get there (we used the promos for the scooters so we had for every company a free ride of 5€). The host gave us good tips on where to go. He recommended us the Testaccio Market, that was very nice, you can eat there Roman food, we loved it! Also there is a big free parking area up the street (5-10 min walk), there you will always find a parking spot.
