Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThere are stone stairs to the apartment - not too many but next time we won't take such a large and overstuffed suitcase! There was nothing not to like.
Enna is not an average tourist town. It takes patience to get into the old city and concentration to find parking but the reward is discovering a gorgeous, friendly place with the most stunning views from the Northern beveldere to Etna covered in snow and from the South to Lago di Pergusa and distant countryside. The apartment overlooks the town's main square. It's quiet, beautifully appointed with antiques and art, has balconies to each of the bedrooms and is both homely and extremely stylish. We just had coffee in the morning in the little kitchen and didn't take the breakfast left for us not because we didn't like it but because we'd eaten so well at Ristorante Tommaso the previous evening - only a five-minute walk away and where we met our host who is very friendly and charming. Our host gave us excellent information on how to find the property, where to park and where to eat - Tommaso! Travelling around Sicily by car can be hard going but the apartment was soothing, snug and comfortable - a perfect place to wind down and find calm.

United KingdomThe range of cutlery would have inhibited anything other than simple cooking.
The location on one of Enna’s squares was very good as this meant that we always found a parking space nearby (in late April). The flat has been carefully styled and is very original in design. The suggestions for restaurants were very good and enabled us to enter into the particular character of Enna

United KingdomThere was only one bathroom between us. The door separated two bed rooms did not close properly. Parking could be problematic.
We were there with our friends, another couple. There were two double rooms, a kitchen/ dining, and a bathroom. Both rooms were spacious. It was good to have a table in the kitchen/dining where four of us sat, enjoyed chatting and making plans, while sipping wine. Enna is a very good place to stay to visit Villa Romana del Casale in Piazza Armelina. From the flat, it's a close walk to The Rock of Ceres, from where you could see a wonderful panorama of the middle part of Sicily.

The central location was great. The rooms were spacious with nice historic furniture and a view onto the piazza. The self check in was easy because of the detailed description of the host. In the kitchen we found a packed breakfast and good coffee as well as drinks and small snacks.

United KingdomThe only negative thing to say relates to the noise. The apartment is on a very busy square and the traffic goes around it incessantly. However, the shutters are brilliant at blocking the noise so we had a very comfortable sleep. Breakfast was a little lacking. We would have appreciated something fresh - fruit or yoghurt perhaps. There were prepackaged croissants and some jams, milk and 2 cartons of fruit juice. However, it's possible to buy some fresh fruit from a shop around the corner. The coffee options were fantastic with a nespresso machine and an Italian percolator with fresh coffee. Our host very kindly delivered some fresh baked focaccia too.
La casa sulla piazza is a stunning apartment - we felt so lucky to have found it. Our host was really helpful. We received an excellent little video showing us the apartment from outside and how to get into it. Very useful! And lots of info on where to go and what to do - some of which we would not have known otherwise. Particular highlights were the Museum of Myth and Al Kenisa ( a deconsecrated church - how a bookshop/bar) and the best ice cream in Italy!!

United KingdomNothing. The only suggestion would be to provide some bowls for the cereal and perhaps to label the hot water switch as we turned it off by mistake on the first night!
Beautiful apartment, plenty of space and lots of character. Comfortable beds and a convenient position in the town so it was easy to walk to the Belvedere and the Duomo. The owner very kindly booked a taxi from the station for us.

NetherlandsThis apartment was exactly what you can dream of in a holiday in Sicily. Old charming building with beautiful baroque balconies overlooking the main square, wonderful authentic design details, very comfortable bed, old, but mint condition furniture and decorations, clean and all comfort needed - in a couple of words, living the Sicilian dream, I felt like living in Malena movie set.

AustraliaThe only fault we could find was that the visitor book was full and we were unable to express our appreciation - so we have done it here. It was obvious most people who stayed at La Casa Sulla Piazza really enjoyed the apartment.
The hosts Pamela and Giuseppe sent us instructions the morning of our arrival, and met us in the square. Pamela took us up to the apartment. She gave us a very detailed briefing about the apartment and its facilities, and the town of Enna, including local restaurants and cafes, and sights to see, things to do. Giuseppe took us to the garage for car parking. The apartment had two spacious and comfortable bedrooms with high ceilings and views over the piazza. The beds were comfortable. There was a connecting door between the rooms. There were lots of old books in the apartment. It was very centrally located, on one of the town's main piazze. We had a excellent dinner at Baglio Balata, which was about three minutes' walk away. There was a light breakfast provided, and coffee and tea. Drinks were available from the fridge. The next day we took Pamela's advice and walked to the Palazzo di Lombardia, where we wandered around the grounds and went up into the tower for panoramic views of Enna and the countryside. We had lunch at a small cafe on the way back to the square. When we arrived back to pick up the car, Giuseppe was there, and drove our car out into the street for us. Would love to have stayed longer in Enna. Pamela and Giuseppe were very warm and attentive hosts. We really couldn't fault the place - it was also excellent value for money. Enna is a beautiful town, and visiting it was a wonderful experience. First photo is the piazza from our window, second is looking back at Enna from tower, Palazzo di Lombardia.

BelgiumThe bathroom is a bit small and basic, compared to the rest of the flat.
This flat is really unique. Located at the heart of Enna, It is decorated with taste. We spent time looking at all the objects and details. We felt like in a contemporary art fair. Despite its central location, it was very calm. The kitchen is big and very well equipped. Beds are super comfy. Pamela and Giuseppe are very professional, friendly and flexible. They also recommended us the spots to visit and good places to eat and drink. It is very difficult to find a parking spot so I would advise you ask Pamela and Giuseppe if they can still rent you there spot.
