How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Well equipped with everything you would need, including a washing machine, coffee maker, bottled water etc. Central, safe area for a solo female traveller. Immaculate, modern facilities. But the absolute best part about ‘La Casuzza Di Tindaro’ was the host, Renzo. I will never forget his kindness and generosity. No wonder this place is always booked!

Nothing about the apartment but check Google maps, it took me up a massive hill with a big suitcase when I could have gone another far flatter way!
Great location, very clean, good size, nice little balcony, very comfortable bed. I didn't use the kitchen but it had good facilities. Nice touch leaving water. Good Comms, Renzo gave clear instructions for getting in, some recommendations for things to do and the details of a nice taxi driver to get me to the airport.

I was very happy with my stay.
Typical local stay experience in Catania. The apartment was very spacious and modern. It was close to center and lots of things to see nearby. It was located up a hill so bring your best training shoes to walk up.

I really liked the location and the apartment is really beautiful, new clean,all utensils that you might need. Renzo is amazing host, very helpful and after my key broke he was in couple of minutes there with a new keys. Also gave me lot of tips and helped organize a transport.I had really nice stay and I'll be gladly be back again! Grazie Renzo!

It was very beautiful, all of the amenities necessary there, very clean, very spacious, loved the balcony for the morning caffe, a little bit lower pressure at shower water (but not that bad), but loved it! Very close to the walking area and historical city center and we always found a parking spot at location on the street (free). The communication was excellent(from check in to recommendations of places to eat).

The apartment is pretty new, spacious, with a comfortable bed. The host was very welcoming, generous with restaurant suggestions, and helped getting a ride to the airport early in the morning. Overall, great experience.

Wonderful apartment with many thoughtful details! The location is perfect to explore Catania and Renzo is incredibly helpful. I’ll definitely come back when going to Catania!

An excellent furnished and equipped apartment, very close to the historical center of Catania and places to eat. The host is very kind and available, he helped us with information about the tourist area and with transportation to the airport.

The host is an amazing person. Warm, caring and helpful. We enjoyed our family trip in Catania so much and one of the reasons was the apartment and the attention from the host!

Excellent host. We were welcomed with a smile and fresh fruits on the table. Location turned out to be very good. The balcony has great morning sunshine. Kitchen was very well equipped and everything was fresh and clean.

The bath is clean and proper. However the shower is nothing to write home about. Of course there is lots to learn when you are new to the hospitality business. Unfortunately Renzo’s promised tourist information did not materialize during my ten day stay. Tourist information and some insider tips by a local are essential and are surely appreciated by guests.
La Casuzza di Tindaro was my home in Catania for 10 days. It is a new listing in Catania. Located near the University and the former Benedictinian Convent you can easily roam about the center of town by foot. La Casuzza di Tindaro is definitely good value for your money. Renzo gave me a very warm welcome and even picked me up at the train station. He is a caring host. The apartment is well equipped. I loved the comfortable bed with a warm two-season duvet. That surely helped as days were cold in Catania over Easter 2023. The kitchen and bedroom are bright and easy to air. I also appreciated the laundry machine which I could use freely. My favorite place was the small balcony. At my request Renzo promptly added a toilet seat to the ceramic commode (which then made it international standard). I hugely appreciated that. I will surely pass on this address to friends as I did feel good here.
