Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Costa RicaEverything, we arrived by car and there is plenty of place around to park for free. The location is close to the entrance of Siena old town. Breakfast was great, all homemade but plenty, and with a lot of variety. You feel welcomed to this place.

GreeceBest place in Siena!!! The location is a 10 min walk from the center of Siena, and we chose that on purpose to avoid the city traffic and have a parking space for our car! The B&B is basically a big villa and is very beautiful. The room was big, clean, with a lot of sun. But the highlights were the breakfast and the owners. Breakfast was every day fresh, with unique options and nice coffee. Even though I was in Italy, I tried the best pain au chocolat!! The lovely couple gave us nice recommendations for dinner which we followed and were very satisfied. I cannot recommend this place more! Will come back for sure.

The breakfast was a culinary delight. Seiko, the owner, impressed us with her homemade bread and cakes, which were fresh and delicious. The variety of choices and the attention to detail in the presentation made each breakfast a delightful experience. Furthermore, Seiko's friendly demeanour and genuine care for her guests truly stood out. One memorable instance of her thoughtfulness occurred when she noticed our beers on the table while changing our towels. Without us even mentioning it, she took the initiative to put our beers in a cold bag, ensuring they would stay refreshingly cool. This unexpected gesture showcased Seiko's attentiveness and her commitment to going above and beyond to enhance our stay. And, Seiko's knowledge of the area was invaluable to us. She graciously shared her insights and provided suggestions for places worth visiting. Her recommendations led us to hidden gems that were cherished by locals, allowing us to experience the authentic culture and atmosphere of the destination. We greatly appreciated her insider tips, as they added a special touch to our travel experience.

United StatesThere wasn’t anything we disliked about the property or our experience. The only slight downside was that on nights that preceded early morning street cleaning , you could only park on one side of the street which made finding parking on those nights a little more challenging but, again, if we had difficulty, Seiko would join us and help us look for a spot.
We stayed in the Brunello room which was lovely. It has great views from both windows. The room is a good size and was decorated with antique period pieces but also had all modern conveniences - especially the bathroom which is very bright and modern. Seiko was the best part of our experience. She helped get us settled in and actually went outside to help us find parking nearby and make sure we didn’t park anywhere that would get us a ticket. She also provided a lovely breakfast spread every morning with assorted breads, homemade cakes, fruit, homemade jams, eggs made to order, juices and tea or coffee drinks. She also gave us good advice on exploring the area by car and just made us feel very special. We would stay here again in a heartbeat. Loved the location, especially being able to have our car nearby and not have to pay for parking. We were a short walk away from the Duomo and main piazza.

AustraliaEverything was very pleasing during my stay.
La Chicca is situated in a beautiful, quiet, leafy street within easy walking distance to the old town of Siena. The B&B is situated in a lovely villa. My room and also the whole house is spotlessly clean. I had a very comfortable bed, wardrobe, side cupboards and old furnishings in my spacious room. The bathroom was very modern, with excellent lighting. Breakfast was a treat. Seiko bakes bread, amazing croissants and cakes for the breakfast buffet. There were also homemade jams available. I also enjoyed freshly cooked eggs, juices and coffee. Both Dario and Seiko were happy to advise on the best way to get to town, places to see and places to eat. They are very welcoming hosts and I would love to return to La Chicca again.

The location is superb. It's only a 10 min walk to the city. The house is a classic Tuscan villa with many of the older features in place. Lovely welcome from the owners. The breakfast is very good. A lot of home made bread canes and jams.
