How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

The lift was very narrow, could only just fit our narrow travel pushchair in - just so others are aware.
The host Francesca was extremely helpful. Allowed us to leave our bags at the apartment early (10:30am) so that we could go off and explore the nearby Cinque Terre without all our luggage. Check in was easy. Lovely modern apartment, very clean.

Francesca was super nice and helpful (we could drop the luggage earlier and leave inside longer the last day). We enjoyed our stay in La Spezia, the apartment was beautiful. Convenient even for 4 adults. Coffee and small snacks available. Keep in mind to leave the hot water button on, when you try to turn the bathroom lights off, so you have warm water in the evening :) Thank you Francesca!

After the sofa bed was opened, it took up much space for us to use the dining tables and chairs.
The owner had provided sufficient information 2 days before our check in time. Response to question and request is timely. We’re very well informed.

Very convenient and easy to get to by taxi. 15-minute walk to the train station. We arrived very late and we were given good assistance through whatsapp.

Perhaps just a suggestion to improve even further this great place. We would have appreciated a toaster and a cutting board would be very useful.
The location was very good as was the acommodation: very nice decor, good facilities, air con. All looked new and the place was spotless clean. The host was very welcoming and gave us fantastic suggestions and information about La Spezia and what's there to see and do.

An extra electricity socket in the kitchen would help.
It was a bright, spacious, clean and modern apartment in a nice central location. It had a lovely large wrap around balcony which we enjoyed. The host, Alfio, was extremely helpful a number of times we contacted him with questions. We also loved La Spezia; it was a great central hub for visiting the region, but more than that, La Spezia is beautiful in its own right. We enjoyed our time exploring La Spezia and eating out every night.

We have stayed in 4 different properties throughout our Italian vacation. This one was better by far than all of the others.
We liked everything, nice spacious living room, clean, everything in it is well-cared for. The owner pays attention to the details, and gave us a great stay. Claudio was wonderful to communicate with, and he helped us to find free parking nearby, a good restaurant in the area, etc.

The apartment was extremely well located: close to the sea to do the boat tour to the 5 Terre, close to the bus to visit Levanto and close to the city center. Everything was max 5 mins walking distance from the apartment.

No disappointments at all!
Excellent location and appartment, fantastic host with great support and guidance for the days we stayed in La Spezia. The modern appartment was of a high standard with an Italian flavor, clean and with all the comfort you may expect, directly in the centre of La Spezia. Parking near the appartment would be a challenge, but with the help of the host no problems and for free! A recommendation for everybody who would like to visit 5Terre and stay in an exciting Italian city!
