The hotel is a couple of km outside of Paterno, and public transport is not reliable A car is preferred. Taxis are expensive from Catania airport, so it’s advisable to book in advance But Francesca kindly drove us to Paterno from the hotel. The location was quite remote, but for us it was perfect! I would totally skip a place in Catania for this lovely fattoria :)

We loved everything! Francesco and Angela were the perfect hosts and made us smile on so many occasions with lovely and thoughtful little surprises. The food was amazing (If you’re a vegan, don’t worry), the pool was very large with a beautiful view of Etna and the room was recently renovated and nicely decorated. Francesco gave us some great information and tips about our next stop on the northern coast of Sicily.

La Fattoria Dei Nonni is a beautiful rustic gem in the foothills of Mount Etna, it's really peaceful, has amazing views in every direction, the pool oasis is perfect for relaxing all day long, the food was absolutely delicious and the owners and staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating!

Nothing I can think of!

We had an absolutely wonderful time at La Fattoria dei Nonni. Angela and Francesca have created a beautiful place of peace and relaxation and are incredible hosts. We loved the delicious, generous breakfasts and evening meals, swimming and relaxing by the pool and admiring the stunning views of Etna. It is a good location for visits to Taormina, the beach and up to Etna.

Having our flight cancelled again so we could stay longer!

We stayed here because we needed a hotel after our flight was cancelled at Catania airport. Francisco was truly amazing, he couldn't do enough for us, greeting us at the gate, drinks, ice creams, fruit all brought by him during astoundingly hot weather. He and Angela made the most incredible meal for us on our first night with some of the best Sicilian food I have ever sampled. They made our stay truly memorable and we can't wait to go back. I cannot stress how amazing our stay was thanks to Francesco and Angela

We loved everything. A beautiful combination of staying at a hotel, a B&B and someone’s home - a rustic feeling with professional yet personalised service. We had a beautiful airy room with a view over the countryside, more than enough space for our family of 5. The pool and surrounding area was beautiful with a view to Mt Etna. We were constantly surprised by the generosity and thoughtfulness of our hosts - bringing us little extras to enjoy by the pool - fruit, drinks, ice creams etc. Our kids didn’t want to leave and we enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed an extra day. Also the best food we’ve had in Sicily, both the generous breakfast and the beautiful dinners (we had dinner twice it was so good). We left feeling very spoiled and relaxed. The location is like an oasis next to the Etna. The owners are extremely welcoming and generous, we felt immediately comfortable. There is the option to eat dinner, which we strongly recommend. We had an early flight in the morning and were not able to attend breakfast. However, Francesco provided us with a delicious sandwich and a banana. We would strongly recommend this lovely agriculturo.

We had a wonderful one night stay here. The staff was very warm and welcoming, and offered us wine and focaccia by the pool after we arrived. The pool was clean and very nice for swimming. We also really enjoyed our dinner, which included several courses of traditional Sicilan fare. The breakfast was also great, including both baked goods, meats and cheeses and freshly cooked eggs. Overall we had a great time!

Area leading to the hotel may look very dirty but once you arrive in the accommodation you forget about it.

Place was extremely clean, room were spotless. Pool area setting was beautiful, surrounded by greenery and extremely relaxing. Food was delicious and hosts made you feel so comfortable and are very nice and genuine people. Room décor may not be to everyone's liking but were spacious and comfortable. Location was perfect, just a few minutes away from Etna, Etnaland and Etnapolis. Also not far from Catania and Taormina.

This is not a place for impatient people that expect an international hotel experience where everybody speaks English perfectly. For us this did not matter at all, with a bit of English, French and non-verbal, we could perfectly communicate with all staff. The authenticity, the warmth and the hospilitality make you feel you welcome, that you do not want to leave.

The next level of hospitality is provided by Francesco, his wife, the family and team. The breakfast is good, the pool snacks (often very nice melon), the supply of drinks was excellent and the dinner was extraordinary every night. The anti-pasta of La Fattoria Dei Nonni are unrivaled, they make you feel the real quality of the ingredients, the skills and expertise in the kitchen. After we left La Fattoria, we have not found the same quality of food again on Sicily. The staff have been brilliant in connecting, we felt home and did not want to leave, while at the same time they were very discrete. A great place for families (the pool is great) and for people that would like to be spoiled and be well taken care off.
