Unexpected low ceiling in bedroom. Unable to stand up straight in more than half of the room

The front lobby landing is not easy to see in the dark and we both tripped. Needs some glow in dark tape to outline it.

Location! Price! Has washing machine to use for free! Helpful in getting cabs.

Wifi wasn’t always working. The upstairs bedroom has a very low ceiling- not great if you are tall.

Location was fantastic. Very spacious. Great to have the use of a washing machine. Very clear checkin instructions.

- loud construction-site next to the terrace - Appartmenent could have bern a bit cleaner

- View from the terrace was amazing (although there is huge disturbing construction site beneath it) - The whole building and the appartement is gorgeous and antique - 5mins away from the market, located in the heart of Ortigia - Roberta as a host provided us with nice recommendations and check-in and check-out worked smoothly

The apartment is dark with limited natural sunlight, due to it being on the ground floor. The window/door in the bedroom opens out directly on to the street, so you do not want to open this when inside because everyone can see you/your belongings. Fortunately, we did not want to spend a lot of time in the apartment so this wasn't a major issue but for others it might be.

The location is great and the host responded quickly to any questions we asked. The accommodation was clean and it's good value for money.

It’d have been better if we could have paid by credit card or MobilePay. It was difficult with the international bank transfer for deposit and cash on site for the rest, which was informed too late for us to exchange cash before arrival. Otherwise all the rest of the qualities were perfect.

Bedroom was quite noisy in the night, because its window/door is facing to the street (but thats mainly stree for pedestrians, not for cars). But we discussed it with Roberta and new window/door is already ordered, so this would be fixed soon

Nice view from the balcony but there was no seating. Can be a little noisy but that's to be expected being located in a central area. A large mirror in the apartment would be useful, there is one small mirror in the bathroom. With 2 people sharing a second mirror would be ideal.

A beautiful apartment, very nicely decorated, with nice facilities. The coffee machine with coffee pods, tea and bottle of wine was a nice touch. The washing machine was also very useful if you're traveling! The owner helped us get car parking very nearby. Great location to explore Ortigia.

Beautiful location .. very clean.. roberta was very very helpful … she always answered straight away.. location is perfect .. just down the alley there is a coffee shop which also has amazing food , drinks and staff

We loved everything.

Lovely apartment in a perfect location in the middle of Ortigia, a stroll from the sea. We had a wonderful 4 nights there and we will come back. The communication with the owner was smooth and easy.

First time in Ortigia & this was lovely place to base yourself; perfect place for a few days. We stayed in Medusa which was small (cosy) but absolutely fine for 2 of us; 3 might have been a bit tight for space. It was easy to access with informative information from the host; we're not used to using air con but host was very responsive & helpful when we contacted for help adjusting it. Probably not suitable if any mobility issues due to stairs up to roof terrace. Really cute wee roof terrace & perfect spot in evenings when is bit cooler to sit out; sea is closer than you'd think from pics. Very near everything and just loved our few days here. Gorgeous place for breakfast at the end of the lane; 5min to platform where you can swim from. We had a hire car & host very helpful to advise of options of where to park etc; we paid separately for parking in a valet parking place approx 5min walk from the apartments. It was fine. Overall wonderful!

The apartment felt pretty damp and musty, this left after having the windows open for two days. The ‘sea view’ we had was looking over a noisy building site, which woke us up every morning (Monday-Friday)

Ortigia is a beautiful place but unfortunately very run down

Upon full investigation of this unit as was presented in Booking.com., information on Booking.com including pictures of the location and of the interior of the apartment were deceptive. Apartment was on multiple levels and difficult to maneuver, and significantly smaller than the size given in the write up. The terrace was up a steep and narrow staircase to the rear of the apartment and ALL of the amenities (chairs, tables, umbrella) that were pictured on the website were in the living area of the apartment and would be required to be carried up the staircase...dangerous as there was no railing for the last three steps to the door with broken locks. The tiny kitchen was fairly well outfitted and we utilized what was available. All of the windows in the apartment were above 5 feet, small and covered...there was no visual of outside space until you reached the terrace. Finally, the owner presented a number of notes throughout the apartment that listed "rules" that the occupant was to follow, to include not to use too much water or electricity as they will be charged for additional use, and quiet from 2-4 pm or risk expulsion...though there was no explanation of what was excessive. So, we spent one uncomfortable night in a rock hard bed at the apartment, made a reservation at a local hotel and left the property the following morning placing the keys back into the lock box where we had retrieved them. We did contact the host requesting an upgrade to the property and was informed that no upgrade was available. At no point did the host offer to refund should we find another property. This was not a good fit for us, and the only property that we walked out of in our 20 years of European travel. Please note picture of view from balcony/terrace and frayed wires wrapped around metal bed frame.

Breakfast was not available. This is not a complaint, it is a fact that was well stated in the Booking.com write up. The apartment was very secure. The location was good but not great. Frayed wires to lamp extension cord hanging on metal bed.

The area is a little loud, however we stayed Friday/Saturday due to our flight delay so being the weekend this is probably why. This doesn’t put us off for staying again though. Would have been great to have balcony furniture to enjoy a wine.

It’s exactly as the pictures, great location. A beautiful spot for watching the sunset. Would definitely stay again, lots of space and two balconies.
