How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Nothing- although it had limited hours for staffing so if you need lots of attention that might be a problem. We were fine and had absolutely no issues; we enjoyed the hotel a lot.
Wonderful small boutique hotel very close to all the fun in Sorrento. The property was quiet, clean, private, and accommodating.

Trying to find the place! Only one sign on the wall and an unassuming gate requiring a lick of paint. Breakfast is not available here.
A delightful spacious tastefully furnished room with regional features, character.and atmosphere. Scrupulously clean throughout. Receptionist very polite and happy to help us enjoy our stay in Sorrento to the full.

The main door into the complex was a little tricky!

Fantastic location and Claudio Ferrara, the manager was absolutely brilliant in every way. Fantastic to see a person so passionate about Sorrento and to make his guests happy. Nothing - everything was great
We enjoyed our stay at La Magnolia - not only was Magnolia location perfect, but also the room was very comfortable and Claudio was extremely helpful for all of our needs. He is a wonderful host and is very well connected. Claudio even arranged us a wonderful dinner with a great table, and even last minute transfer!

The only thing we would have liked is a coffee machine so we could have enjoyed the mornings in the villa and grounds more so, but this was not a big issue with he many cafes around.
Location was fantastic, rooms were a good size and light and airy. The grounds of the house were lovely and made it feel relaxed within the busy centre of Sorrento. The staff were wonderful and went out of their way to make our stay comfortable and tranquilo! they also provided flowers and prosecco for a perfect Sorrento birthday celebration for my partner!

Nothing to dislike about this centrally located hotel
Excellent location, about 70 metres walk from the main square and 5 minutes walk to the main railway, bus station and supermarket. The owner, Mr Claudio and all staff were very welcoming and friendly and also offer some good advice on where to eat and best ways for getting around the area. The room was a good size, very clean and comfortable, we had room with a terrace balcony which gave added value in terms of comfort and peacefulness.
