Beach access and the view is phenomenal; but above all the staff was amazing. They gave us a short list of restaurants and activities to pursue and also provided personal connections to some of the merchants. Very friendly and supportive -- superb staff!

Two main issues. The Restaurant is overpriced and although the food was well presented it wasn't exceptional and at 100 Euros for three courses we were not over fed. For example cheese and biscuits was 6 portions of three cheeses each about the size of a little finger but nicely presented. Not sure it was worth the price. Access to Taormina is a challenge. There is a funicular but its pricey and as we had a car on hire it was far cheaper to drive up and park in the afternoon or evenings although the overall cost is similar if you park all day. Also the roads are a bit of a nightmare currently with road works and closures including the autostrada on our return to the airport that caused a diversion, that had we been driving in the day could have added hours to our time but luckily for us, at 4.00am the road was pretty easy without delays. Sat Nav essential plus a good navigator got us through.

Location right on beach but crossed by public walkways. OK in quiet period but at other times probably less so. Facilities and staff were very good and helpful. Parking good but challenging approach. Breakfast very good and politely served. Occasional wait for recharging of buffet but loads of choice anyway. Bungalows are quirky but well fitted out, clean and comfortable. Shady private enclosures but plenty of sunbeds on beach - no need to rush out at all. Beach Bar very good but needs to sort its sound system and music out! Nice terraces to sit out on too and view is lovely. We had cool weather with strong winds. So we got wind and a little sunburn from high UV. Must use protection even in April!

Not sure whether we were just unlucky but we booked the deluxe bungalow because it seemed more private. However, the hedge between our yard and the neighbouring one wasn't hiding much which made for a lack of privacy. On top of that, we constantly had staff coming and going from our private yard to do some maintenance work - with no warning beforehand.

We enjoyed our stay at La Plage mostly because the staff was super friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was really good with an amazing view on the sea. The bungalow was good but wouldn't recommend for a super long stay.

Considering how much you are paying - the property looks quite tired. There were cobwebs in the gym and the rooms have almost no natural light and are cramped due to the large bed. Food at restaurant was also a bit average so if you're spending several days there - you will get bored.

Lovely beach location. There were always loungers available and it was super easy access. Staff was also helpful throughout the whole property - whether it was room service, front desk or the restaurant.

Location!

I am always reading reviews before travelling. Was a bit worried after seeing some of them. My advice is, if you want to enjoy the time in full, don’t choose the cheapest bungalow. Take one with jacuzzi. It feels more private, better planning of room. The location, staff, food is perfect! We enjoyed our holidays in full! Children were crying the day we left. Thank you!

First room they gave us was next to the staff facilities (laundry, kitchen, etc.) so if sitting on balcony can see & hear all their goings-on. Complained & they gave us a different room the next morning.

Great location… right on the beach (rocky) and across from Isola Bella. Room (2nd) was clean and comfortable. Hilly walk up to main road but then close to tram going directly downtown.

The room was very small which was challenging as we had a baby and a cot and a lot of luggage. The bed was also very hard but the team arranged a topper for us. It would have been great to have a pool too

It was beachfront and the staff were incredible. In particular, Alessia, Vincenzo and Roberta. They were all so warm and welcoming and went above and beyond to make sure we were looked after. The restarting was lovely.

Housekeeping did not clean our room until 15h30 on first day. Very unexpected for a five star hotel. I had to go to reception to ask them to clean room.

The view was amazing, also jacuzzi a big plus.

The bungalow rooms are on the small side. Also, the public has access past the hotel premises on the beach, making it feel less peaceful.

Location, location, location! Wonderful view at sea level of Isola Bella. Once descending the stairs from the road, the hotel buildings and bungalow rooms are all on one level, with the beach just in front. The staff were lovely.

The rooms are small which I could be ok with but what bothered me the most was that they were outdated. everything just felt old about the room which did not match the price we were paying or the lobby. Lobby was beautiful, but the room was not inviting at all. It would make a huge difference if the rooms were updated.

We had problems with the WiFi in our bungalow, but had no problems anywhere else in the hotel.

Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble. On our first day, we collected our car from Catania, had to navigate using an Italian speaking sat-nav, through little streets, traffic, not great roads, we finally reached the hotel and it had been a stressful day. When we arrived, there was a function on, so carpark was crazy, but we managed to find a 'spot'! When they found out we were checking in, they moved our car to a 'reserved spot!!', brought us into lounge to see the amazing view, gave us a glass of sparkling and then bags where in our room!! then relax! wow. Exactly what we needed. Then another day, it had been raining so not many people around, but was clearing, so we sat in the bar and although the kitchen had closed, they still made us a pizza.

Beach is rocky so you need suitable shoes to walk into the water

Location is right on the beach. We would prefer to stay here than up high where all the shops are. The cable car was 6 euros return & easy to get to for a night up top at the fabulous eateries.

The beach is very pebbly although I appreciate there is nothing you can do about that.

The breakfast room was excellent and all the staff there very helpful and polite. The small beachside restaurant which served small bites at lunchtime was also helpful, however, when it rained, the overhead covering leaked - it may need some maintenance/replacement. The food was very tasty and reasonable.
