How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

Very small shower and no space in the bathroom to put toiletries, but otherwise clean and well cared for.
Room had a nice lounging couch, was very clean, just a minute away from Ponte Carraia, and a 20 min walk from Duomo. Many nice restaurants that locals use in the area as it's not right in the middle of downtown.

The only down side is the hotel is on the third floor. The tiny lift can only hold one person with luggage at a time. But this was only a tiny discomfort.
The location of this hotel is exeptional. right outside of the busy centre and near some amazing cafés and restaurants. Staff are extremely friendly and the room was comfortable!

Had to walk a small flight of stairs to the room, so that was a bit challenging with two luggages.
It was very pretty and great view from the window. Location was pretty accessible to the main attractions we wanted to visit. Staff was very helpful and friendly

There was a rusty metal door stop on the floor that we both stepped on, it needs to be replaced. Be aware there are multiple bars on the first floor that can get loud.
The location was great and even though they are on the third floor, they have a lift for your luggage. The staff was very friendly and our room was very spacious w/ a washing machine.

No allowance for heating (except the bathroom) in April, with chilly tempetature. Botton missing from control panel, room uncomfortably chilly Toiletries could be improved (i.e. shower gel)

The windows are pretty bad at noise isolation so I could hear all the noise from the pubs on the street until late in the night. During the week days it is way better.
The room ceiling looks amazing. I felt like I traveled back in time every time I looked up.

too close to some bars and the windows are old-style without triple noise-reduction glasses/design. People were so loud drinking, talking and shouting on Friday night till around 3:30am on Sat; my child and I could not sleep till 4am and it was really bad experience.
Friendly and helpful staff - many thanks; clean room with spacious bathroom and closet space, only that there is no curtain/division between the small couch for child and the big bed - unlike what some photos show - and not enough privacy.

What a dream! Tall windows looking out on the river....towel warmer in the bathroom...a place to set your suitcase down...a comfy bed..and friendly/helpful staff. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat!

Has a hospital feel and doesn’t feel cozy, the airco initially didn’t work and the hostess didn’t want to switch it on but she eventually did, the room is more dated than in the photos

The light from the temperature control was very bright and made the room too light at night.
The receptionists were very kind and helped me with my case which was too heavy for me to take up the stairs.

We were underwhelmed with our room compared to the photos on the listing, it was pretty basic and not the most comfortable bed / pillows.
Excellent location - there are plenty of decent restaurants and bars within walking distance of the hotel and it was walkable from Santa Maria Novella train station which was convenient.

We didn’t had hot water in the bathroom and we had to wake up early in the morning so there was no one to ask about it.

Very nice place well located on the other side of river, within walking distance to the city centre crossing one of the bridges. Excellent restaurant recommendations by the staff Nice big room.
