Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaAll the stairs - but it makes for an amazing veiw.
Our host was so lovely and accommodating. It was a big climb and up lots and lots of stairs and he carried our luggage. So lovely. The climb is definitely worth it for the gorgeous view. The room was clean, and the breakfast was presented in such a beautiful way. We loved every moment.

United StatesThere are lots of steps. We didn’t mind at all. Gino helped with our bags which was nice. If you have limited mobility or have lots of heavy luggage this may be a deterrent.
La Valle Delle Ferriere is amazing. Gino is an extremely attentive host. We received a tart lemon ice cream upon arrival. The room was clean and had everything we needed. Our teenagers loved the LED shower lights. But the best part was the amazing breakfast on the terrace. Fantastic.

CanadaSome people would find it challenging to get there, you have to leave your vehicle 1 km away, then walk, including stairs. I liked it to be slightly remote considering what you get in the end.
Amazing view of Amalfi from the private balcony (make sure to book the room with the balcony). Great breakfast.

ThailandNot much they can do about it but it was a bit of a surprise having to climb almost 200 steps to get to the property. We did get used to it but it is definitely not a place to stay for people with challenges climbing steps or mobility problems. That said, the property manager did carry our luggage which was very helpful.
The staff was very very helpful and made the stay very pleasant. The view from the terrace is exceptional and the breakfast was superb!

AustriaWe stayed 2 nights and the host was really nice. For breakfast we could choose the night before between salty or sweet. The host prepared this with much love, fresh fruits and it was really good. The appartment comes with a nice view and is about 10 mins by foot to the centre. We also asked for restaurant recommendations and enjoyed the restaurantes a much.

IrelandThe only negative remark will be that the double bed was made from 2 single mattresses, a bit uncomfortable for us.
Nice B&B, friendly staff and an incredible view from the balcony. Climbing to it was quite heavy due to the long stairs, but Gino helped carry the bags up and also back down. After 3 days of up and down, we were fitter than ever 😀 Good breakfast and spacious, clean and quiet room. A short walk to the city.

United StatesEverything was lovely!
This is a beautiful B&B, tucked away up the valley from the central area. We decided to stay in Amalfi, a small quieter village that we could return to every evening after the busyness of the other coastal towns. This was perfect for us! Our room was immaculate, spacious with a wonderful little balcony overlooking the valley and a slice of the Mediterranean. It was very quiet even with some nearby construction going on. Our bed was comfortable and we had adequate storage. The bath was also comfortable and we had plenty of hot water in the shower. Prearrival communication was excellent. When we arrived in Amalfi and contacted our host, she sent down a gentlemen, Gino, to help us with our bags as we ascended the stairs. There is a stretch of stairs but we didn't find it a problem. Instead, we were grateful for the peek into the Sicilian neighborhood and the beauty of the surrounding canyon. Gino provided us with a helpful orientation to the room and meal schedule. Breakfast was served in a small delightful space just off of our room. We were given breakfast options, all of which were tasty and abundant and served per the schedule we requested. When it was time to leave, Gino was there again to help with our bags.

Great base for exploring the area without a car. Felt like we were deep into the countryside, but only a quick walk from the center of Amalfi. Spacious room, nice view from our balcony - and breakfast on the terrace was super nice. Really recommend this place.

NetherlandsThe stairs were quite a challenge for us, but we knew this from before arrival :) it is mentioned in the description of the accommodation. We are both not frequently working out, but walk a lot - still we were breathing heavily walking back up hahaha. But to us it was definitely worth it and do-able with breaks in between.
The staff was super super friendly, we were in contact with Maria and Gino. Maria was easy to reach via WhatsApp before arrival, Gino did everything for us on the spot - from carrying the suitcases up and down (and omg so many stairs) to changing our beds to two separate beds instead of one double bed. And of course not to forget THE AMAZING VIEW from our balcony.

LuxembourgThe property may not be suitable for persons who have trouble with the effort of climbing stairs. Each trip up is equivalent to walking up a 6 story building, but if you are fit, it is worth the effort!
The buildiing is recently renovated (or perhaps built?) to a high standard of comfort. The interior is decorated with taste and local touches. The view from the balcony was magnificent - exactly as beautiful as in the photos. We specially liked seeing both the sea and the mountains from the room. The breakfast (we ordered the salty version) was of excellent quality and generous - eggs, cold meats, breads, tomatoes and a little cheese, good capuccino. It was perfect for a long day of hiking and it allowed us to skip a full lunch. The owner and the staff are friendly and helpful. We highly recommend visiting Amalfi in the off-season. It is a pleasure to see the sights without the crush of the summer tourist season and Amalfi reverts to being a normal town.
