Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustriaFor me it was a very good choice!
With a small purse and on a low-budget-trip I found this great place and it was the best choice. Much cheaper than anywhere else in this region, a restaurant just down there next to the hotel. Very friendly and fair staff, a clean room and a location in the center of Rapallo. If you don't mind an old hotel, you will be satisfied here!

United KingdomLumps in the bed but if you're a deep sleeper, this will not be an issue. It's a dated property but reasonably well maintained. The place is good for a few nights stay.
The location of the hotel is ideal. It's not far from Rapallo train station, the ferry terminal and seafront. You can easily walk everywhere from this hotel.

NetherlandsNo staff, keys at the neighbors restaurant. The shared bathroom is big, with a separate toilet. It but needs a complete renovation. Bathtub, showerhead broken, and a plastic curtain. Make a walk inn shower and the hotel is a great place!
Location, big room, beautiful building with terrazzo floors.

Luxembourg- old facilities(bed, fan, bathroom, elevator...) - very noisy if the windows are open due to the construction and cars (some earplugs would help) - Noisy toilet
-It's very cheap compared to others with a private bathroom. - the window has good isolation - well located, good transport connections

GermanyNevertheless of course one might expect more for the same price elsewhere (not the Cinque-Terre region of Italy). Everything was very simple, there was no additional luxury. The bathroom and shower were small and every time the toilet was flushed there was a rather loud pumping sound, which may disturb people during the night. I didn't wake from any sound in other rooms though so I wouldn't weigh this in too much.
The accommodation is very centrally located and you benefit from an extremely short walk (2min) to the beach and downtown. The train station is also a mere 10min walk away. The check-in was very friendly and uncomplicated and we could move into the room immediately, as agreed. The furnishings were very simple and without luxury but sufficient, it was very clean. The bed was made up fresh every day. In the bathroom there were soaps and enough towels, as well as cups. For colder nights there was an extra blanket in the closet. The mattress was rather hard (back-suitable), which we liked but of course is a matter of taste and can certainly vary from room to room. Overall the room looked better than it appeared in the pictures so we were pleasantly surprised. There is a tiny elevator which may help with luggage and we didn't hear anything from the other rooms. Taking into account how expensive all the hotels in the area are, this is a cheap but clean stay that will suffice for a few days.

FinlandFew minutes walk from railway station and promenade. Chech in takes place in the restaurant downstairs, possible until 10pm. Room is ok, but walls are paper thin and had noisy neighbours, a bit disturbing by the tv and their load speaking. Shared bathroom ok, liked the tap in the room and the soft towels. Bed comfy.

ItalyI think it needs AC, and a fridge, small one because I wanted to have fresh water at night and I never could because there was no fridge unfortunately and it was way too hot even if I bought cold water at the store by the time I’d get home was already warm. So I’d recommend a fridge
The place vas super clean! Just was TOO HOT. I’ll come back but not in July. It is in a very great spot everything is 2 minutes waking, and it is in a strategic position with boat everything is close 5 terre, Portofino, San Fruttuoso, e Porto venere.

FranceThe fact that I didn’t have a personal bathroom and the cool air fan wasn’t that powerful
The close location to the sea, allowing to take the boat to visit all the others closest cities (Portofino, Santa Magherita Lingurie , San Fruttuoso, etc) The staff that also manage the restaurant at ground floor were lovely and they greet me well and was always nice , communicative with me
