Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWiFi didn't reach the room. Clean but could have been cleaner, no do not disturb or do not clean signs. Walkable to tourist area but take your time. Wonderful shopping, food and sights. Tea and coffee making facilities lacking on room.
Quirky room with Aircon. The location is great for foodies. Staff very helpful. Great hot shower and pressure.

FinlandThe price. A room more suited to be in the 60-90€ / night bracket at 180€ / night is not really good value.
The area was nice, close to tram stops and several nice restaurants.

SloveniaWater pressure in the shower is not great, the room was a bit small, but not bad for one person. The restaurants around close at about 2:30/3 pm till like 7pm so be aware of that.
Good location, lots of restaurants around, a less than 10 min tram ride from the Duomo. Nice bathroom, comfy bed.

United KingdomWorst thing was the room had no kettle - there was a communal vending machine but bring your own cup (no space for this luxury on budget airline luggage rules). Getting on an early flight from UK then reaching destination but no ability to make a drink took at least one star off score. I'd brought my own coffee so only wanted a kettle - not freebies. WIFI also unreliable - for 2 evenings none at all any time so go with data. Even with a budget hotel nowadays I expect reliable wifi. Only 1 plug socket so choose what you wanted to charge up. Pain if 2 of you with phones. No-where really to put clothes - OK if staying a night and living from suitcase but pain for a week's stay. One clothes rail that you need to be 6' at least to reach (I couldn't at all) with 2 hangers. The rail was over the table which created the reach problem. No shelves for anything at all and no drawers. One table was my wardrobe, breakfast storage area, work area and charging area. It was not a huge table! The bathroom fittings and clothes hooks were also designed for tall people - I had to climb to reach my clean towel each day! Very weird. The room was incredibly noisy late at night. There was some facility opposite that emptied out late at night with very noisy people who seemed to hang around a long time. You also hear the night time trams and rubbish emptying early in the morning. Only night of peace was Sunday. I could have closed the window and run air conditioning throughout the night but prefer fresh air at night. The room could have been so different with more thought in layout. Also a weird damp smell on main staircase which fortunately did not get into the room. Yes it was budget hotel but still quite pricey as Milan is expensive.
The location was brilliant the navigali area is vibrant and atmospheric - loads of places to eat or buy food at supermarket or stroll day or night. About a 20 minute walk to duomo - a 30/40 minute journey to train station though - at opposite ends of the city. Plenty of trams and night buses so you could get to station for an early morning train and get around the city easily. Plenty to look at close by as well. Felt safe as lone traveler. Room was really clean, bedding and towels fine, large sized bathroom. I got upgraded from a single bed to double bed so plenty of space for one. More cramped for a couple though.

SpainThe hotel is far from the central train station (almost an hour by tram), so it’s not the best choice for a short overnight stay with a flight in the morning. Also the walls are quite thin, so you hear all the noise from the hallway. Luckily it wasn’t too loud during my stay
Check-in was easy and the room was small but comfortable and had everything I needed for the night. I also enjoyed exploring the area with the canals nearby

United KingdomThe only thing I can say about this was the noise within the hotel. This may be because of the room I was in being close to the reception but the walls must be thin as I could hear everyone talking and the cleaners started quite early so woke me up.
Location is great - easy walk in to the centre without being in the busiest spots. Room was really comfortable and had everything I needed. Great for a solo traveller.

United StatesHaving coffee with latte available in your lobby would be a nice addition. Food can be purchased elsewhere but a morning cup of coffee would be a plus. Climbing stairs with heavy luggage was not ideal but we did it.
Staff helped us with directions for travel to the Milan airport (metro to train) and to the Milan Cathedral (tram 3). That is the assistance that really reduces the stress traveling. Including directions on how to get to your hotel from Central train station and/or airpot would be a plus for attracting business. Having paper maps available might also be a plus. Just relying on cell phone for everything should not be assumed. Beds were nice size. Having outlets available for charging devices on each side of the bed was great. Shower worked well. Bathroom was decent size. Security keys for access the hotel worked well. Great location--near the tram and restaurants close by.

United KingdomThe hotel had very thin walls and floors. Other guests inconsideration of people sleeping in the early hours was very annoying as you could hear them walking, talking and slamming doors at all hours. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room was frustrating.
The position of the hotel was good. The cleanliness of the room was excellent and the bed was extremely comfortable. The bathroom was a good size with an excellent shower. The aircon was great.

United KingdomNothing bad on the hotel's side itself, just some of the other guests were a bit too noisy on one night when returning to their rooms, but it was a one-off occurrence.
The location was not too far from central Milan - it didn't take too long to get back and forth on the trams. The hotel was quite comfortable and good value for money considering how long we were staying and the facilities were good. Rooms were also regularly cleaned and towels were replaced every day. I also liked the security with using an access key (provided on the first day) to re-enter the building in the late evenings.
