Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe turned off the fridge because it was so noisy we couldn’t sleep! There was a kettle in the room but no coffee/milk/cups for making a drink
Great location - couldn’t be more central and yet very quiet - with one of the best bars for breakfast two doors along. Accommodated our request for a very late night booking - thank you! We left early for a business meeting but noticed it had a sweet interior courtyard terrace for guests to enjoy.

IrelandNo kettle or coffee facilities in the room as listed and the shower was impossible to use without soaking the floor. There was a coffee machine in the reception area but I couldn't work out how to use it, instruction leaflet would have been useful. Owner took down whatsapp message with codes for the doors on day 2 but luckily I'd taken a screenshot.
The location was perfect, everything I wanted to see was walkable, train and bus station very close and lots of restaurants nearby

GermanyThe beds at my room were worn out and the noise insulation to other rooms and to the street was horrible and more or less non-existent.
The Italian breakfast is organized at a nearby cafe. Great coffee and superb croissants. Fantastic location of the B&B for city strolls.

Large clean room with air conditioning. Brilliant central location for exploring Cagliari on foot. It was lovely to have breakfast at the City Bar watching the world go by. The owner was excellent at emailing instructions with all the information that was needed.

ItalyBathroom shower is a little small, but not a major problem for us. There is no assigned parking if you rent a car, but it's quite easy to find street parking nearby.
The location is very central in the marina area, very close to restaurants and walking distance to the old castle area. The room was clean and there was enough space for our needs.

IrelandThe lack of basic facilities, such as a secure door, soap and a functioning toilet (the toilet lifted off the floor when you sat on it and flooded the bathroom after flushing). The central panel on the door of our room was also hanging off, so that anyone could access our room when we were in or out leaving us feeling unsafe and worried for the security of our belongings. The double bed we were promised turned out to be two uncomfortable metal single beds pushed together with cheap bedding and two thin worn out single mattresses which separated once you lay on them. Pillows seemed to be unwashed (they stank). There was no staff evident, to provide a welcome or communicate with about any of the multiple problems that came up. We texted Remy about the flooding, moving toilet and he said he would fix the problem. The flooding was fixed, but the toilet was still not secured to the floor. Generally, the place is not taken care of, strip lighting above the bed, fittings in the room falling off furniture, extra dirty pillows stuffed in random drawers, odd bits of wood on balcony. Strangest of all, on the morning we left we found a scalpel, a blade and some sort of hypodermic needle in one of the bedside drawers. There's shabby chic (which we are fans of) and then there's just falling apart and a total lack of basic facilities. It was a bit like wild camping in the middle of a city, which is a shame because with a little bit of care and attention the place could be lovely.
The location was great. Also the view from the windows.

GreeceWe stayed at room 106 ( the most expensive ) for 1 night . The room smelled mold everywhere. Mold was even inside the tiles of the bathroom . The air conditioner was not responsive to temperature changes and the noise from the fan can be heard outside the room . It was almost impossible to sleep at night . Wifi was not working. At 01.00 at night someone just bursted into our room using our unique pass code !! , claiming that he had the same room booked and the receptionist gave him the same pass codes !! Our stay was a complete disaster! Stay away from this property .

SloveniaWe didn't like how the owner was never present. We saw him once...when he accidentaly opened the door to our room (we had to call him because we thought that it was a guest that did that. The owner did apologise). The hotel looked nothing like the photos. When the gps took us to the location we were very confused (walked 5min up and down the street because we weren't sure where it was). The bathroom looked nothing like the photos as well. There were pictures of this very luxury bathroom but all we got was a small room with very bad drainage in the shower. It wasn't that bad, but it was very disappointing since we thought we were going to get something different. The bed wasn't great as well. It was made out of two matresses that would split appart (making a hole between them) whenever someone was sleeping in the middle...so if you want to cuddle it's not gonna work out. We contacted the owner about the breakfast (he told us that we should show their business cards at the bar but we couldn't find them) and he didn't reply to our message. So if it weren't for the other guests that told us where they were we wouldn't be able to eat breakfast.
We liked the location and the breakfast at di trizio.
