    That we had to leave!

We loved our room and patio, with such an incredible view of the sea and sunset! The staff are all great, especially, Fortunata! Every morning at the delicious breakfast, she would make us excellent cappuccino! The area is especially bike friendly, and the hotel had a great place for our bikes. ( we are traveling by bike). We can’t wait to go back!

    Nothing not to like!

Tia little gem is awesome! The room is great, with an incredible patio overlooking the sea and sunset? The breakfast is delicious, and the staff couldn’t be nicer. We’re definitely coming back!

I found it confusing that at the reception there is a writing saying that sun chairs at the hotel’s private beach are comprised in the stay, but when you ask, you find out that you have to pay if you have booked only breakfast (and not all meals ). I prolonged my stay for one additional night (initial booking was 2 nights via booking.com) and the receptionist told me I could pay cash at the end of my stay. when I was due my outstanding payment for one additional night before leaving, they included tourist taxes of all three nights , rather than only one night, although I had paid already tourist taxes for two nights via booking.com when I had made my initial booking. although the staff seemed to be very friendly and forthcoming while I was there, this “leaves a bad taste in my mouth” but I guess that’s the treatment that you have to get used to if you’re not an Italian at Follonica. fortunately I kept the receipts they gave me, so will escalate this with booking.com and see if their customer support is able to help so I get reimbursed for tourist taxes for first 2 nights. unfortunately I didn’t notice it immediately , otherwise I would have addressed it with the hotel owner while I was still there.

had a single budget room, hotel is located literally in front of the beach, so that’s convenient. I could check in early and staff was helpful. breakfast was nice. the owner sent me over to a bike rental nearby and they gave me a discount, as I was staying at the Lido - thanks for that, much appreciated! Follonica itself has great beaches and seems to cater mostly to Italian tourists, which I found to make it appear authentic. nearby the hotel is an excellent restaurant, called Il Beccofino, if you are into fine dining and are looking for a unique food experience, I strongly recommend paying them a visit. if you fancy quiet beaches, rather than those in front of the hotel, make sure to drop by the beaches close to Torre Mozza.
