Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWould have preferred a memory foam mattress as it had springs. But that is only personal preference. Didn’t realise that coffee and croissants were offered until our last morning.
Property is a ten minute walk after taking blue line ferry straight from the airport (€28 each return) A beautifully decorated 18th century Venetian property, It’s truly like stepping back in time. Perfect, quiet location, in easy reach of everything you would want to visit. Given great advice on restaurants and a map to get around to reach places of interest.

I really enjoyed the period furniture and the general decorative style which helped me to be immersed in the renaissance period.

United StatesHidden Gem! Loved our stay here! The property is beautiful and decorated in such a charming way. The staff were so friendly and very helpful in giving us tips. The location is prime! Away from the crowds, yet centrally located. We were able to walk to St. Mark’s Square and Rialto Bridge which was about a 20 minute walk. The view from our room overlooked the canal and we could see the gondolas going by which was so cool to see.

United StatesThere is nothing to report.
This is a beautiful B & B located in the Castello District, a neighborhood of local residents. It's about a 5 minutes walk to the Rialto Bridge and St. Marks Square. It was a nice place to return away from all the tourist crowds. It has many restaurants frequented by local Venetians. The rooms were clean and comfortable with darkout shades and a good air conditioner. The entry is secure by a door with digital entry that opens to a large beautiful patio garden where croisants and juice and coffee are served in the morning. It also has a canal entrance with a beautiful archway that adds to the ambiance. The proprietors son Elvis has a tour boat to Murano and Burano from this location and also offers water taxi service to the train for a reasonable fee. Venice is not that large. It takes about 25 minutes to walk to the Dorsodoro District where the Academia and Peggy Guggenheim Museum are located along with the Venice Jazz Club. We walked this twice in one day and you have to cross the Grande Canal twice, but that's the adventure of Venice.

Everything from start to finish. Didn't want to leave. All saff very nice, helpful and friendly. Option of boat pick up from train station, which I should of taken looking back. Hotel is fantastic with opening onto canal. It's filled throughout with various antiques and ornaments which add to the ambience. Stayed in room 14 on 1st floor which was lovely and overlooking a very relaxing courtyard. Location is quiet yet still near everything in Venice and near local square with restaurants and shops. One of the best hotels I have stayed in and I will definitely stay here again. Thank you Alvise

United StatesBess were firm, which is different than I am used to, but I slept just fine. I think that is common as I compare with other places in Italy. So, if his is not a negative thing. Our stay was great. I would stay here again.
Everything was very clean. Close to St Marks Square, close to the Rialto Bridge. The owners have a boat they use as a water taxi. They were able to take us to Murano and to the train station, which saved us a lot of time.

United StatesNo complaints. The whole experience here was fantastic. Would stay again!
This was an amazing find. The hotel is nicely tucked away behind two locked entrances in the smaller streets of Venice. We were greeted by the kind staff, and our room was charming and lovely. The size was perfect, the bed was comfortable, and the bathroom was spacious. I loved how quiet it was at night, while being just a few minutes away from some great shops and restaurants in town. It was perfect!
