You read the reviews and think, "could these be fake?" But in this case it wasn't. Our stay was better than expected, chiara the host was so gentile and simpatica that my daughter now wants to be married there. What an amazing experience, the seclusion and tranquillity that we need after many long flights. Brava signora Chiara, lei 👏.....

The room was a little small, but it was enough for us to sleep. In other words, you can sleep there comfortably, but don't plan to spend a lot of day time or to work in the room - it is too small for it. On the other hand - the castle is a large place so you will be able to spend your time around to sit and enjoy the weather also outside your room.

Our experience was incredible. We came with our 6-month-old baby and the host arranged for us a baby bed without extra payment which was very kind and made our experience start very positively. We also got a private tour of the castle, which was fantastic and very interesting. The breakfast was very good and the staff was very kind. It is truly an amazing experience and definitely worth the price and we highly recommend you visit there. We give this place 10/10.

Locanda del Re Guerriero Let me tell you about this place….if you are fortunate enough, do not miss it! This tranquil locanda is home to an amazing collection of the owner’s art. The castle itself has a full gallery of art, one room fully dedicated to up-and-coming contemporary artists as a means to help them on their way. The grounds, on which the Locanda, Castle and Chapel reside, are peppered with large statues of various geniuses at work! The Locanda has 12 rooms…mine in the top right was like a suite! Beautiful, bright, huge bed, lovely modern shower and all immaculate. Katja, who is the host, is a wonderful multi-lingual charming woman who gave me a private tour of the incredible 15th century renovated yet preserved castle .

If we were staying longer, we would have expected a pool.

You arrive at the park like setting dotted with sculptures and enter the most beautifully restored villa. The rooms are generous, and the bathroom has a superb selection of toiletries. Katia made us feel so welcome throughout, including making our booking at an excellent local restaurant. The art theme is carried throughout the property. The added bonus was the adjacent castle on the property, which was fascinating. Breakfast was served in style by Stefan. It was the best value for money we have had in the last 2 weeks of our trip. If you are planning a wedding this would be ideal. Arriving up a tree lined avenue lit by oil lamps and entering the castle over the old drawbridge into the inner courtyard. Dramatic & memorable!

Everything! The room are perfect for a family, with separated living areas for the kids and adults. The staff went above and beyond, providing restaurant recommendations (and reservations), a beautiful breakfast in the morning and tours of the nearby castle and art on the property. The location is perfect to explore the entire region, yet far enough away from the city to feel like we were on vacation.

Only downside was that there was no on-site restaurant but the staff booked us a wonderful local restaurant where we dined like very special guests.

Beautiful location in the countryside. Very nice and helpful staff. The garden is beautiful with big old trees and art sculpturs. We slept so good and we got an upgrade for a suite with pefect view ar the old castle. I can highly recommend this place. We will come again one day.

Honestly, I really did like everything and I strongly recommend this property.

The location is amazing, in the middle of a private garden right next to the castle (a visit to the castle with a tour guide is complimentary for visitors spending the night at the locanda!). The property is clean and comfortable, staff very nice and kind and super pet friendly.

Jacuzzi bath didn't seem to work. Would suggest ripping it out and using the excellent shower as a walk in. Breakfast was good but minimal.

Wonderful architecture and artifacts. Loved the elephant! Staff were great. Bed very comfortable and big. Good location if passing through. Excellent restaurant 7 minutes by car away.
