Had to park quite far away and climb a lot of stairs with luggage. So pack light if visiting here!

This place was very unique. The cave rooms were so beautiful and they have taken all the necessary steps to make it comfortable, including having a dehumidifier in the room as they would be very damp otherwise. The spa area at the hotel was much better than I expected, it was well worth the money to go for a few hours and swim, sauna, steam and drink tea. We had such an amazing time in Matera and would come back here again and again.

Only downside is that our room was a 5 minute hilly walk from the restaurant and lobby area. Would not suit elderly or children in prams.

Excellent location right in the old town (known as the sassy). Very authentic and unique experience!

This place is amazing. The room, the staff, the cleanliness and the Thermae Romanae were excellent. They have a complimentary parking garage shuttle which was so convenient. Our Highlight was the piano Player at breakfast. Our entire stay felt like a dream. Can't wait to be back!

We were disappointed there was no outside furniture as we were expecting to be able to sit out. Only 2 glasses when there were 3 travellers and unfortunately we encountered unhelpful staff when we went to use the spa

Historical and very comfortable. Nice attention to detail and immaculately clean

    Nothing.

We had a triple room which consisted of a double and a single. It was very spacious. It even had a bath tub/spa in its own little niche! Toiletries were plenty - no skimping! They made the bed daily which was such a treat. The room opened to the outdoors...there are quite a few steps to navigate from the elevator, but if you arrive within hours, the porter will help with your bags. The outdoor area had a lovely table and chair that you could sit in and just take in the incredible view of the Sassi. Breakfast was at the breakfast room and the food was plentiful and tasty. A variety of coffees were offered and brought to you. It was a highlight. The pool and the sauna facilities were great...very relaxing. only wish I could have gotten a massage..but i didnt have time. I would highly recommend this hotel. I would return again.

The girl at the reception almost shouted on us why we didn’t call them at the garage. Then forbidden to our kids the entrance in Therme - I wish I knew this at the moment of booking. It is located in the Sassi the old part so it is really difficult to reach with baggage.

Fantastic the experience to stay in the “cave home”. It was very clean and quiet. The room was very big so they could have put a sofa inside or a caffe machine, a mini bar but nothing. There was a sauna but it was locked. The breakfast was great!
