How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Only thing to improve its the wifi =/
This place is amazing, the best part is for sure the staff! The receptionist was extremely kind and gave me ALOT of amazing tips of the area and the best local places to eat. The bar staff is super fun and kind, I have an amazing time! B Apart from that the facilities are good, there si a nice common space, a big terrace a common kitchen. The rooms are ok , you have your private locker and a private bathroom in the room. The space is clean and nice. The location for me was perfect as was just across the bus station and 2 minutes from the train station!

the room for 12 people only had two showers and two toilets - it wasn’t really a huge problem though
pretty much everything very helpful staff, nice common spaces, great (cheap) cocktails, good location and very clean

Location wise is next to the train station so it’s very convenient and no, no noise from station. The place is great, w a nice living room space w a nice kitchen and has a bar that opens in the evening; has a big patio w tables and sofa; and most importantly the staff os not only friendly but efficient on taking care of any situation u need them for. Only bummer was that the tv didn’t work when got back at the end of the day but I didn’t come all the way to Sicily to watch tv so no big deal

Wifi didn't work well. No space to put and hang our things in the bathroom. The towels and linens are provided in plastic bags, that's hygienic but not sustainable..
Good location - very near train and bus station, not a long walk to Ortigia. Nice and spacious common space.

The mosquitos, but I don't think this is any fault of the hostel 😅
The staff is fantastic. It is the perfect location to go anywhere (next to the train, next to the bus station).

The wifi didn't work in the rooms
Nice community room, very close to the central station! Easy to make friends and quite cheap drinks!! All in all a very nice atmosphere, also the reception was staffed almost all the time I can really recommend it for solo travelers.

Top location next to the bus and train station. Very cool hostel with comfy beds, friendly staff speaking very good English, cool inner yard and the kitchen.

wifi wasn’t reliable in the room. for all the effort to make the hostel pretty, the showers could use some work. the locks on the bathrooms / showers don’t work.
common space, lounge and wifi in the common area. it’s great if you need to catch a train as it’s 10 seconds walk but far from all the action

Wifi didnt work very well in our room
Location is great, man that works at reception gave us great tips, nice kitchen and lounge area, bed sheets and towel came in vacuum sealed bag, beds are comfortable.

Staff here is amazing -- just incredible, true hospitality. Eugenio also gave me the best recommendations in Siracusa in terms of renting a bike, eating out, visiting places, discounts etc. Stuff was also super helpful and kind with accomodating individual needs - for example I could store my stuff there after checking out and before my bus leaving. This hostel was like an anchor for me during my stay in Siracusa (which was the best!!). I also met some really cool people in the hostel. Rooms are clean and air-conditioned, and the place has a lovely design. Would wholeheartedly recommend, and a big thanks to Eugenio and all the stuff!
