Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomNothing. There was nothing to improve. Everything was perfect.
We were a family of 4 with our children being teenagers. This was our second visit to Rome and we enjoyed it far more this time due to this Appartment and the advice we received from the host Luigi. The appartment’s location was excellent as all the main attractions are so close. The Appartment was really comfortable as were the beds, even had choice of pillows. Facilities were excellent in that Appartment and the cleanliness was faultless. Everything about this Appartment was perfect. The host Luigi was fantastic. From the moment we booked he contacted us just to introduce himself and he gave us lots of recommendations for places to eat and see. When we arrived he met us to show us at round the Appartment and then he left us a map with all the placed recommended marked on it. He booked us a taxi and was always at hand if we needed him. You can tell he loves Rome and his job and you knew he would help you instantly if anything went wrong during your trip. Luckily for us everything went as planned. Highly recommend this Appartment.

AustraliaSadly, we had to leave! Wish we stayed there a bit longer.;))
This was our favourite place in Italy! Located in the heart of the historic Rome, in an old building the apartment was freshly renovated, it was very cosy and comfortable. It had absolutely everything we needed. It was warm, the beds were very comfortable with beautiful feather pillows and doonas. The host was extremely welcoming and helpful. He gave us a comprehensive guide of local attractions and restaurants and was available to answer our questions throughout our stay.

SerbiaReally everything was beyound our expectations. :)
First was the location, just 3 min walking from Argentina square (the place where Julius Caesar was allegedly killed) which was perfect. The owner of the apartment, Luigi, is one of the best hosts we've had the chance to meet so far. He instructed us in all the activities that we can do around the city in detail (he even print us everything on paper, with details, so we don't forget). The restaurants he recommended to us are really some of the best you can eat in Rome (fortunately, our friends live in Rome, so they confirmed it for us). The apartment was extremely clean, the neighborhood was quiet, and Luigi even organized transportation to the airport for us, which meant a lot to us (the price was 50e). The apartment is ideal for 3-4 people. We will definitely book this apartment again when we go again.

CanadaKitchen was a little small with limited workspace. A separate small table or island would be helpful.
Host gave a comprehensive overview of the apartment, the area, attractions, restaurant recommendations and was very responsive to any questions we had during our stay. Would highly recommend staying at one of Luigi's apartments.

New ZealandWow - just wow! This apartment is stunning in it's fit out and decor, but just as important is the attention to detail to make a weary traveller feel at home! Luigi is a most attentive host and we had a seamless arrival and checkin. His recommendations for places to go were most helpful and the apartment itself was spotless with an amazing bathroom, great shower and comfortable beds. Fantastic location too - handy to so many of the ancient sites and Trastevere but super quiet.

SingaporeIf there were some view of the city, it would have been even better. That may be too much to ask though, as room itself was quite spacious and comfortable.
Louisi was the best host I ever had. He took very good care of us at check-in and kindly went through must-try places with his list of recommended places. We really enjoyed several restaurants on the list, which we would not have visited otherwise.. The location was excellent with most of places within walking distance. In fact, we did not need to use any public transportation during our stay.

CanadaEverything was excellent. The apartment was in a perfect location. Close to everything, around the corner from Campo de Fiori, minutes to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, just over the bridge to get to Trastevere, about 12 minutes to Via del Corso. There are restaurants and cafes everywhere. The apartment itself was immaculately clean. Very spacious, with all the amenities you need. The bed was super comfortable, air conditioning worked great and plenty of hot water. Very tastefully decorated as well. The host Luigi was fantastic, he greeted us with a bottle of wine and was very informative and provided us with a printed list of various eating options. He was always available if we had any questions. He was even kind enough to reserve a taxi for us on departure. I wish I could have given this a higher rating it was that good. We would definitely stay here again. We highly recommend this place if you come to Rome. Thank you so much Luigi.

United StatesThe building, like most in Rome, has a cobblestone street right up against one side and a cobblestone parking area on the other. Like most of Rome, those areas were littered - cigarette butts, general small trash, leaves, etc. Some small weeds growing up between the pavement and the wall. That first impression reduced the curb appeal, although once inside, the building itself and the apartment were GREAT. A problem easily solved in 1 hour with a leaf blower and some Roundup
You really can't say enough about a stay "hosted' by Luigi. It's like being his house guest - available by MMS or WhatsApp seemingly 24/7. He contacted me by email within a few hours of my booking. He provides a 3-page list of recommended restaurants & stores near the apartment, and they're all excellent. For those challenged by the Italian language, he will arrange transportation, make reservations, etc. He met us personally on arrival, went over everything in the apartment, the neighborhood map, restaurants, etc. Then there's the apartment... Wow, everything you'd hope for. Large living area, dining area, bathroom, full kitchen (real refrigerator/freezer, oven/cooktop and microwave) and king-size bedroom. Smart TV has all kinds of channels, many in English. Clean and updated as if it was remodeled last week. Nice furnishings, wall art, etc. EVERYTHING WORKS -- washing machine, all kitchen appliances (including dishwasher), bath, A/C (2 zones -- living area and bedroom), lighting, etc. Stocked with laundry and dishwashing detergent, olive oil, balsalmic vinegar, coffee/tea and a full complement of tableware and cooking utensils. Seriously, you can't go wrong with this place. Location is extraordinary - walkable to all the main sights. Don't be put off by the curb appearance - The building exterior isn't impressive and the street has the same debris you find everywhere in Rome. Inside, it's awesome.
