Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Czech Republic- A little bit overpriced for a one star hotel - Check out time is maximum at 9am, which is too early. In general, it's done at 11-12am maximum - They don't have storage room for luggages, and when I asked for it the owner asked me for more extra money, which wasn't acceptable. Funny thing is right after, he asked me for a good review... - Some light switches were not working in the room - In the shower, hot water was coming and going, which was a bit annoying - The bed was too noisy, so every time you move while sleeping means to wake up
Location was close to roma termini station

IranThe neighborhood is so dirty and looks unsafe (especially at night). the rooms aren't really clean, and the bed and pillow weren't comfortable at all. There was a lot of noise from the neighbors and from the other guests of the apartment. I couldn't connect to the Internet in my room both with my simcard and wifi (the wifi antenna wasn't covering my room). More importantly, I booked a room with a queen bed, and I got a room with a sigle bed!
Location is close to termini The staff were quite helpful

SerbiaWhen we arrived in the apartment it was too cold, heating was turned on manual when we asked for. The blanket was dirty and we asked for a new one, we got new one but it looks like someone just put the parfume on it. Walls, bed sheets, a curtain was dirty also. Walls between apartments are too weak, and you can here talking from the another apartments. This apartments needs to be renovated, pictures on booking are too old. I dont recommend this apartment. Sorry, but this is true!
There is only one thing that we liked - Location, connection with busses and trains, its close to Termini station.

BulgariaThe neighborhood is dirty, abandoned by the city's sanitation services. The view from the window is a wall, but we are not complaining about that. This is normal. The abnormal thing is that for 10 (ten) days our room was never cleaned and the towels or sheets were not changed.
The place is convenient from a tourist point of view, the sights are nearby. The room is a normal size for the price and has all the necessary amenities.

Saudi ArabiaThe room is small, and you can hear the noise outside the room. Also it's on the first floor without elevator.
The location was Ok. 10 minutes walk from Rome Termini (Main train station ) , and 25 minutes walk to city center (Trevi fountain ,....). The room was clean and good value for the price.

Switzerlandfirst of all, I had to clean back the washroom because it was nasty when I arrived. I mean, dirt in the shower and dirt in the toilettes, plus the seat cover of the toilets was not clean. then, the bed is one of the least comfortable beds I’ve slept in, the mattress is horrible, too soft and too mushy. no bedsheets available. then, the mini fridge was disgusting and non usable, dirt inside and a half bottle of water with mushrooms inside… finally, the host should know that the walls are not well and that we can hear everything that is happening on the outside, so if you want to sleep during mornings. please know that it is not possible, host is putting music out loud and talking really loudly on the phone.
it is well located in Rome and it is very easy to access the subway / buses / tramway. in addition, there are a few places to eat next to the rooms, and a supermarket which was really useful and practical. I liked the fact that the wifi was great quality and that there are Netflix and Amazon prime available for all guests at Martini Rooms. I think, if you just want a place to sleep and nothing more this place will do the job.

EstoniaCommunication with the staff was difficult, because their english was really bad. Also a member of staff knocked on our door for two mornings and wanted to come into our room for reasons that we didn't understand. It was very uncomfortable and weird. The walls were thin and half of the mornings we heard the alarm from the other room for a really long time and it disrupted our sleep. Noice coming from the lobby was also annoying and at around 10 in the morning the man at the front desk started conversing loudly and played music. There also wasn't a soft blanket in the room. We, being from Northern Europe, are used to sleeping with a soft pillowy blanket, and it wasn't included. We had to specifically ask for it. Otherwise we would have had to sleep with the comforter, which was very thin.
The location was quite good - main places were ~20min walk. The room was quite good - TV, AC, big bed, good bathroom.

Latvia-the ventilation was horrible, the room smells -the bathroom has mold on the walls and shower -the room walls are dirty and scratched -the bunk bed is old and dirty, all sides have drink spills -the floor is dirty, nothing is cleaned, theres a dirty rug under the bed, used masks, paper etc. -we booked a room for 4 people, but the sheets were only for 3, said that the 4th sheet was in the closet, but it was old and dirty, wich wasnt useable -there is a fridge in the room, but its so loud that you cant sleep -the walls and the doors arent soundproof, you can hear the other rooms at night, the doorbell and the upfloor -says that the hotel is close to the Termini station, but you have to walk 20 minutes to get there -horrible, unsafe and smelly neighbourhood -the receptionist said that the checkout is only available at 8:00AM, altough in Booking its a completley diffrent time

These rooms are in a good location in a quiet place, which is a good stay in Rome. Rome is a loud city. Comfortable mattresses and we had a small fridge in our room.
