Everything was brilliant

This is a beautiful hotel right by the station in Pavia - the staff are so kind and friendly - we had a very early train and they opened the breakfast room for us at 5.15am and even offered to cook scrambled eggs for us - I have never been offered more than a soggy sandwich and water when leaving too early for breakfast before. There is a cozy bar area and sweets in the lobby.The rooms are lovely and the lift showers wifi are all great. We had a wonderful few days there.

The wifi was weak. I couldn't work in my room. On a business trip, this would be essential. I didn't figure out how to turn on the hand shower (instead of the rain shower), so I got a splash of ice-cold water first until the hot water arrived.

Very friendly staff, close to railway station, big bed. Otherwise uneventful. Clean.

No hall door, so no door between the bed and the corridor door – there was but they dismounted; although it would be very useful to isolate noises. The hotel overlooks the railway and bus station. So creepy faces around the hotel; they are harmless, but not a good feeling. No tea making facility in the room. Pavia is not a very tourist friendly city: receptionist recommended 3 cocktail bars – 2 of them was close at (Sunday) 10 p.m. Both were open next day 10 a.m. The restaurant which the receptionist recommended is a cellar. But it is almost fine dining. But without English language menu. After we asked, they were not kind anymore.

Very kind and flexible staff, with very good English. You can pre-book parking place, which is very close.

The only downside was that the facility is a little bit old. The furniture was a bit dated and the pressure in the shower is a bit worn. The window curtain in the bathroom didn't close completely so at night it wasn't difficuls to see me walking around naked after a shower as the bathroom was facing the street.

The hotel was ok. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. Additionally, the hotel provided breakfast, which was a nice touch. There were several options available, and I appreciated the effort put into providing a range of choices. The location was good, close to all the good restaurants.

We have a little dog (Cat size). It is said on Booking that it is possible to take the dog in the hotel. So we made the revervation and paid the full rate (not refundable). We then asked for the dog. And we discovered the Hotel was charging € 30 (Which we found rather excessive). Why not annoucing the rate on the site ?

In general it was very good. The room was a bit strange, the bed surrounded by a crystal cage so to say, but confortable. It was very nice and modern

the shower was very small and there was no place to put soaps and shampoos etc... in the shower. the onsite restaurant was closed and awaiting a new chef.

the staff were excellent. the location was central to the sights and restaurants. a well maintained hotel and we would stay there again. the bed was very comfortable. better than most hotels we have stayed in Italy which are normally too firm. the staff gave us excellent restaurant recommendations. Osteria Madonna is great and Lino was one of the best Michelin 1 star restaurant we have ever ate at. Both recommended by the staff.
