Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and stress-free. The hotel was clean with large rooms and beautiful views. We definitely would stay here again on our next visit to Rome.

BulgariaEverything was just perfect. I'd only recommend not to force the guests to leave a feedback. We received about 4 reminders to rate our stay - 2 in person during our stay, 1 via whatsapp and 1 via e-mail. And all of this during our trip in Tuscany - we were 3 weeks on holiday so we did not have time to leave the review right after our stay in Rome because we were busy, exploring Italy. Bearing in mind this is a luxury place, it's not usual practice to remind us so many times to rate the place. Of course that we will leave a review once we are back home. Not to forget the time frame for leaving a review in Booking.com is 30 days after check-out.
Very cozy place. Super friendly staff. They even upgraded our room for free. Delicious breakfast in the room. Shampoo and shower gel by Hermes and John Richmond were a very good idea. There was a little misunderstanding with the bill and the owner gave as a very very good wine as excuse.

The view of the hotel over the city was charming, and the rooms are very beautiful. Most of the details were taken care of, the breakfast was excellent, the staff are very friendly And they helped us a lot, especially Mr. Dario the hotel manager was so wonderful and kind, he made our visit to Rome more beautiful and gave us a lot of beautiful advice, I highly recommend the hotel to everyone who visits Rome

United KingdomThere were a couple of minor issues that we have presented to Dario. Also, we have suggested that towelling robes should be present as standard and maybe a few more shelves or drawers to supplement the plentiful hanging space. Our suite, unusually of the four suites, did not have a table for a laptop computer to be used and I advised Dario that it is essential in this day and age.
This is a tiny hotel (with just four rooms which are all suites), in a large building. We understand that the hotel will be expanding in the next three years. The small size is compensated by the quality of the rooms and the service presented by the staff, particularly the hotel manager Dario. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we felt like we were in a private villa. We had two of the four suites, but saw the other two. They are all beautifully appointed with large terraces/balconies and a spectacular view of Rome. They all face the sun from early morning until late afternoon. The air-conditioning is first class. The beds are particularly comfortable and the showers spectacular. Unusually, the bathroom lighting was very good - as was the general room lighting. We had no difficulty with water pressure from the showers. The towels provided were replaced every evening and morning, after we had showered. The were plenty of electric plug sockets (particularly useful these days) and the WiFi was satisfactory. At all times Dario treated us as honoured guests - and was especially helpful with arranging transport, including getting us a taxi to the airport for our return home when there was a taxi strike. Foodwise, there is no restaurant so we can only comment on the breakfasts, which are first class, and served in the suites: they were lovely and the freshly squeezed orange juice the nicest we have ever tasted in the over 60 countries in which we have stayed in hotels.

We loved everything. From the warm welcome to the support we were provided getting us to the airport during a taxi driver strike. We were attending a wedding at the Villa Miani and needed to choose between the Monastero and the Waldorf. We spent a fair bit of time at the Waldorf and were so happy that we picked the Monastero. The bedrooms and bathrooms are enormous, brand new, comfortable and functional. Luxurious fitting and bedding. Superb breakfast served on your terrace. Probably the best views of Rome from every room. Between my family and friends we had the whole hotel, every room is fabulous. Very quiet, wonderful bed, We all slept really well. Without exception, all the staff were friendly, warm and helpful. Dario is outstanding.
