Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe hotel’s great advantages are also its disadvantages. It is about 20 minutes and (I think) nearly 10 kms. out of Rapallo by a narrow winding mountain road. The town can of course be reached in about 10 minutes by the cable car. However, it runs only every half hour, and only during the day; you cannot use it in the evening if you want to eat in Rapallo. Fortunately, the restaurant is very good - but the menu is limited and so after three days you will be repeating yourself. These are not complaints: bearing in mind these considerations, we would strongly recommend the hotel.
The hotel is situated on the top of a large hill overlooking Rapallo and across the bay to Portofino. The views were spectacular, both from our bedroom and the dining room. The staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was excellent. We were particularly pleased to be in the quiet of the woods above Rapallo which we could nonetheless easily reach by a telecabin that runs down to the town.

AustriaCupboards creak and smell old. Bed springs creak as well. Long or wide cars might have trouble going up the sometimes narrow road.
Enjoy breakfast on the balcony with a majestic view over the Portofino coastline. Adventurous narrow road to the hotel 600 meters above sea level.

United KingdomRoad up is very bendy but not an issue Wi-Fi could be better in speed but if you want peace and quietness then not an issue
quietness up in the hills, views are superb and great for walks and peace and tranquility. Great place to get away as wifi and 4/5g signal are not too hot so you can relax away from the hassle of no electronic life. Staff are very friendly. Very pretty church close to the hotel

The hotel is amazing, it has a very beautiful view, the stuff is kind and the food is good. But it’s quite far from the city centre, and it takes time to get there. The bus/cable car stop working at around 7 pm. So, if you wanna enjoy Rapallo night life and get to the hote after 7 pm, you better drive a car.

United StatesHotel guests must be able to walk up steps and relatively steep inclines to reach the hotel. While this isn´t bad, it might be nice to know this in advance of arrival.
We enjoyed the views, the ambiance and the warm reception we received. The food was good and the breakfast was ample. A wedding in the church added to the experience. The cable car ride down into Rapallo was both scenic and enjoyable.

NetherlandsNo real downsides, only thing is that the parking is not on premise. It's along the street of the narrow roads towards the top of the mountain. It's the end of the road however, so no through traffic. The internet was incredibly slow. There is hardly any mobile connection and the entire hotel is on the same wifi connection, giving you only 3 mbps internet speeds
The biggest selling point is the view. You can see the bay with Portofino from the terrace. The breakfast is great and the people working there are very friendly. They also help you with your luggage from your car to the hotel. Which is up the hill a bit.

Romaniait is a 20-30 min car/bus ride from Rapallo city center and there are not too many options for transportation, especially during the evening. Between Rapallo and Portofino you can find a lot of options, busses that go till midnight but to get to that location, it is a little harder. A personal car is the easiest solution but the road up and down is winding!
The entire place is amazing! quite, green, amazing view of Portofino and its surroundings! we arrived there by car - there is parking close by and traveled by bus and taxi. The downside is the lack of transportation from Rapallo towards the location, after 8 pm. And the taxis in the area are expensive but solutions can be found. our overall experience was very nice its an amazing place for a quiet and peaceful retreat! totally recommend!

ItalyDiner was chaotic (at the same time, and with same personnel, there was a party/diner going on) and personnel had not time to have a cosy small talk. Diner was relative expensive. Room was clean but very sober (monestry room). Roomrate for 1 room (4p , 1 double bed and 1 bunkbed) is way to expensive for a simple hotel on top of the mountain (long/ windy road to Rapallo). All rooms for 4 p have no sea view. So overall our stay was good, quiet but could have been half the price
Quiet location near a special church, friendly employees
