Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BelgiumYou could smell that you were not in a new building, and the room was a bit dark, but it wasn't that bad after all. Breakfast could have more vegetables and better coffee.
The staff were super friendly and supportive, they were very nice people :) The location was incredibly convenient, situated near both the main train station and metro.

United KingdomIt’s seen better days. Reception and breakfast are in the hotel next door.
Low cost hotel close to Termini station, so very handy. Decor and furniture are pretty basic but the room was immaculately cleaned. Breakfast was excellent - great range of fruit and delicious croissants.

SlovakiaThere might be an issue with hot water (we experienced it one evening-morning, but after breakfast the hot water was flowing). Man at reception recommended to let the water floe for longer time. We´d recommend this hotel for shorter stay (like 2-4 nights). For longer stay, we´d recommend Trastevere
Perfect location, just 100 m from the basilica Santa Maria Maggiore. Like 200m from Termini station. Breakfast - simple, but sufficient. Jogurts, cereals, fruits, ham, cheese, good bread, delicious croissants. Yes, every day the same (no problem for us). Perfect italian coffee. Staff - very friendly, all the time helpful Room clean, bed OK

BrazilThe hotel should provide a leaflet with more information about the rules and passwords. My room was in front of the reception and close to the main door. Probably people forget the password and make too much noise trying to get into the hotel at 7am. The bell is extremely loud.

United KingdomRoom was very basic, on the ground floor at street level so was noisy if you kept the windows open. The hotel is two properties linked therefore you went outside to enter the main reception in the other building. Whilst the reception staff were very friendly, the breakfast staff all looked and acted dour faced as if the joy had been sucked out of them! The breakfast was made up with basic things like cut slices of bread but no toaster to toast them, fruit which looked a year old, pastries that were soggy and the tour that is mass produced by a supermarket and generally provided only because they are required to and not because they wanted to. Only good thing was the coffee!
Location was great. A 15 min stroll to the colosseum and central sites.

CanadaIt doesn’t qualify as 3 stars hotel in my opinion. It’s very simple. Shower door was broken. There’s no entrance for the front desk of the hotel. You can easy miss the hotel. The entrance is by another hotel besides it, but there’s no explanation

GermanyThe grout in the shower has fungus. They should be cleaned.
In general, the place was nice. Breakfast was enough. You could find savory food and sweet cornettos. Close to the train / bus station. Every place to visit within around 30/50 minutes by foot.

JapanThe only thing that bothered me was the smell of the towels.
I chose access as the most important factor since it was only for one night, but it was such a great stay that I am sorry it was only for one night. The room facilities were perfect and the room was clean. Breakfast was enjoyable with several kinds of bread, fruit, and cheese. The ham was very tasty. The staff made me a cup of espresso. The hotel staff was friendly and very helpful. It made my trip special and memorable. Thank you. I would stay there again when I go to Rome.

United StatesVery expensive for the condition of the room. Mostly due to location, I’m sure. Free breakfast, but pretty basic.
It’s a great location for walking to the historic sites, and close to public transportation. Probably not the safest area at night.
