Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

RomaniaEverything was just perfect. The BB is 5 minutes to the center through a nice shortcut. Antonio was very kind. he gave us a lot of instructions on directions, tourist attractions, special places, things to visit. He was open to solve everything we asked for. I would highly recommend the place.

NetherlandsTo reach the accomodation there are some stairs (like everywhere in Taormina). Not the best place for people in a wheelchair.
Nice small B&B. Only 250m from the city center (with some stairs). The property is situated in a quiet side street and is reachable by car for loading/unloading of luggage. Since parking in Taormina is reserved for locals you have to park your car in Porta Catania parking which is a few minutes drive (and only 250m on foot). The owner (Antonio) was very helpful in directing us to the parking and pointed out some nice restaurants in Taormina. The rooms have airconditioning and a few rooms have a nice view of Etna form the balcony.

The host! The cleanness. Close to the center. All the recommendations of Antonio. He give us an umbrella! The air conditioner. The space of the room.

NetherlandsEverything was good!
From the b&b you can really have an amazing view of the coast of this area. Although it's a bit of a challenge to get to the top of Taormina, but rewarding! The accommodation is really close to the main areas of the town and there are many lovely narrow streets on the way up and down. Was a nice stay!

TurkeyThe rooms are not soundproof. Even I could hear next room’s talks and snoring. And bed sheets is not changed on daily basis.
The staff is friendly. Location is good.

FinlandThe rooms are very simplistic, almost giving hostel vibes. There is not much sound proofing in the building and you can hear people from the hallway very well. Some wall decorations would muffle the echoing. For this reason, You also have to be very mindful of other guests in three mornings and evenings.
The place is very clean. Fresh fruit at breakfast and coffee in the morning was good. It was nice to receive water upon arrival :) it's only a 15 or so minutes walk from the bus terminal (but uphill which can be strenuous if you're bringing a lot of luggage - you can also get a taxi from the train station).

ItalyThe distance from the centre. The place is on a mountain and to come back at night was very tiring if you dont have a car (especially when being outside all day). However, if you don't mind walking you ll get a ice view of the city especially in the morning when going to the centre.
The availbilty and kindness of Antonio. He explained us what to see, where to go during the day. We appreciated that he gave us a bigger room when we arrived. Comfortable bed. Breakfast was very good. We really liked a homemade apple cake (made by Antonio' s wife, very delicious). We really appreciated a jam of red oranges (made in Sicily :)

US Virgin IslandsIt was VERY far UP HILL for walking. A better place for visitors with cars or cycles. I had thought there was an outside patio for viewing Mt. Edna. But it was the proprietors family private patio. I could not find any nearby restaurants for food without the long walk back down to the town.
The room was very clean. The breakfast offered several selections of fresh fruit. The host was very nice and helpful.

FranceIt's quite tiring walking to the appartment from the parking or from the old city as there are many steps and it's really hot. The facilities are old and I see insects climbing through my floor.. It's really noisy even though it's not in the center because you can hear everything from the neighbors or the walking hall.
The staff is nice and you can communicate well. The clim works well. You can see etna through the window.

GermanyVery nice host who even organized free parking almost in front of the apartment and let us check-in a bit earlier. The apartment itself is nicely located with view of the stunning coastline and a little bit of Etna from our balcony. Nothing to complain and highly recommended.
