Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

UkraineBrekfasts are basically generic and rooms are rather small. Parking is about 400m away and a bit complicated, since you first need to obtain card from the hotel and later proceed to the parking, but hotel itself is located in pedestrian area. There is a bus stop nearby, so you can try to stop there real quick and proceed directly to the parking afterwards.
The staff were really friendly and helpful throghout our stay! Metro station is very close.

United StatesI wouldn’t say I didn’t like it, but the elevators were very small and the elevator stops mid floors, just different. I’m very pleased of the elevator.
The staff were very pleasant, always willing to give suggestions or to help. Smiles go along way for me and the staff always had smiles.

United StatesVery Tiny elevatorFits 2 people with luggage. OK to climb if you’re on the 1st floor, but I was on the 5th. Also my single room was very small. Just room enough for the single bed.
The location is great. Right opposite the port. You can walk, unless your ship is in the 3rd Beth away. Ours was, so MSC sent a bus to pick us up at the 1st berth so we didn’t have to walk that far.

AustraliaThe tiny bathroom. No tea or coffee facility. The lift stopped either one flight of steps above or below the floor with the room. So my room was at 4.5 but I had to get off at 5 and bump down with my bags. No assistance.
Proximity to Genoa main station.

United StatesCreepy neighborhood during the day, scary at night. Several drunk men hanging around near the entrance in the morning when I left at 10 AM. I would have taken a photo but it was too intimidating. Walking back to the hotel after dinner near the train station was scary. An older couple was checking in when I returned and they asked me where they could go to get a drink. I suggested they get a beer from the cooler at the front desk instead. This was Friday night at about 10 PM in October when the weather was perfect.
Clean. Nice front desk staff. New and nice bathroom, good shower, comfy bed and handy to have a fridge in the room. Good for overnight stay between trains.

United States-The elevator was very tiny. I was wearing my backpack and had 2 pieces of luggage , this was s tight fit. You disembark from the elevator between floors, so you either go up eight stairs or down 9 stairs to get to your room. -The Bathrooms are very tiny. Not a lot of room to move. -No information on how to contact front desk on phone. (I had a water leak in my room, dialed 0. No answer) I had to go to the front desk myself to get someone to take care of the issue.
The location was ideal for what I needed. What I wanted was a clean room, safe area and breakfast provide, and that’s what I got.

CanadaThe breakfast, for $11,50 was not good. For that price I think they could have done better. (Like the inedible rubber eggs?) The shower drain in the room needs to be cleaned. A little coffee pack would be nice. A mini fridge would also be nice. We.witnessed one of the staff was unnecessarily extremely rude to another guest.
It was a cheap, clean place near the airport that offered free shuttle.

BrazilWe don't like the tiny elevator and the stopping system on the floors, which forces guests to always have to go up or down stairs, no matter where they are. Accessibility is nil. Another factor to note is the cleanliness (outside the rooms), which left something to be desired. The size of the shower stall also does not suit overweight people.
We liked the great location, the front desk staff who were super helpful and friendly, and the room which provided great pillows, bedding and mattress. Reasonable breakfast.
